I know silk and gossamer is needed, is harden leather needed for the refinements?

The formula is 20T2, 10T3, 20T4, 50T5 for 1 ascended mat.

You’ll only need T6 for 400-500 crafting and for the insignia for the final items if you’re not getting dire/soldier/etc.

Depends. Cloth is needed for everything (mostly t2-t5), and then you need either metal (heavy armor), leather (medium) or more cloth (light).
