Probably a noob question but, I was just wondering if it would be cheaper just to buy all the ingredients for a legendary rather than buying it with gold. I’m aiming for a twilight if that makes any difference.

Price fluctuates a bit but generally it’s better to make your own so that you are not paying a premium for the non-purchasable stuff

As a person who bought my precursor and am very close to making my second legendary, I have to say that buying the legendary outright is the better deal.

It requires less headache overall. Between all the necessary currencies required, and all the gathering you spend more time and only a bit less g on getting everything slowly.

The biggest problem is since it is tied to gold alone, you will have to save save save. It is very easy to spend your g on every shinny thing out there prolonging your legendary hunt.

It depends on how much you have done towards it. If you want to avoid map completion you have no choice but to buy it. You will also need Dusk, 100 Icy Runestones, 2 recipes @10g each, lodes, metals, 250 of every t6, yadda yadda, im sure you know the drill. Add up the cost of crafting it compared to the cost of outright buying it. Decide from that.

I’ve only looked at Twilight’s but I saw it was cheaper to craft. Based on the prices for a lot of the other high demand legendary weapons, I believe it would also be the case for those too.

I don’t know the numbers, but if you’re question is to outright buy every single material or outright buy the legendary, I’d probably say the legendary.

What’s better, farm all your materials (and buy the odd few) or buy a legendary? Definitely farming your own materials.

You’d be surprised if you did the calculation of buying all ingredients on buy orders and selling the precursor in a sell order or even at the buy order price.
