Sorry very noob question but where are trees in queensdale to cut down for green wood logs. I have a copper logging axe. I just can’t find them.

It seems that after the feature patch gathering is locked for low-level characters. This might be your problem.

No Information about it is mentioned in the release notes or the wikia, but if I had to guess you should be able to do it before level 20.

Edit: this video in german said that it was around level 9

I don’t think it is your level, I think it is in areas where you would be down leveled to level 7 is where nodes start being found. Or where enemies are level 7. It is possible it is level 9, its still early.

I found trees past the level 6 heart and was able to harvest them at level 5.

I think the level restriction comments come from when you get notified by a hint when you are leveling.

From what I have read, the trees are NOT locked out, but just don’t show up on the map until a certain level. Now getting gathering tools at a lower level is another issue….

Just go further south. The trees don’t show up on the map in low level areas. Once you reach the middle of the map, you should start to see gathering materials.

I was under the impression (from a report on this forum) that before a certain level, you could not buy many things from the NPC vendors (including gathering tools). I have no verified the report.

No .. they really have removed the tools from vendors in low level areas. My lvl 63 thief
had to go back to Hoelbrak yesterday because the NPC at the Bear Shrine in Wayfarer
Foothils was no longer selling salvage kits.

I had a level 2, fresh out of the tutorial, I was able to buy both a rough salvage kit and harvesting tools. However it’s possibly different for brand new accounts. Maybe they are restricted.

Lol, this is kittening ridiculous. What the kitten were they thinking? ‘Uhhh we don’t want to distrub new players, remove gathering, it’s too complicated’ — zomg, really.

I left guild wars 2 a year ago and when I return this game has all gone soft because a bunch of noobs had complained that it was too hard? and now I can’t even salvage things or chop down trees like i did in the beginning? Oh joy…..

Clay Pool area has plenty of trees. And the vendors have all the tools you will need as you level in the game. And if you have your map Icons set up properly All gathering nodes do show up.

pressing a button to cut down trees is way to confusing for new players (seems like gw2 only has new players), so it had to be removed. just level up more and the system will tell you when you are smart enough to press f.

Personally tested and can tell you that you can buy harvesting tools from the vendors in the major cities and you can use them at level 2. The harvesting nodes have just been relocated out of the level 6 and lower spots of the starting maps. Seeing the date on the OP, guessing this is no longer relevant anyway.
