so, like a fool I accidently changed my weaponsmith crafting ( which was to 500) for tailoring! I want to get it back without losing my progress.
If I visit the weaponsmith can I reinstate without losing my crafting levels?

Yes, but it costs 40 silver.

you’re able to switch your crafting professions as often as you like. But as stated above changing the profession will cost couple of silver. You don’t lose your progress at any time.
