hey there.

i remember earlier in this game, there was a quite high chance for getting rares for combining 4 masterwork (green) items. Ofc, it did not happen everytime, but at least often enough to do it.

during the last days, i trow almost all my masterwork stuff into the mystic forge, but i did not get one single rare item from it. The items i trow in are not crafted, but random drops level 70-80.

anyone else experiencing this?

Its hit or miss. I did about 10 tries yesterday and got 3 Rares. Sometimes I get none, so its just RNG….

It’s always been RNG, like most things with the Mystic Forge. Think of the Mystic Forge as a Casino. Sometimes you may win big, but in the long run the house still has the upper hand and you’re still going to lose money.

Considering that if you throw 16 greens into the MF you’ve pretty much spent enough money to buy one rare or ecto from TP.

So with a rate of anything less than 1/5 tries (factoring in the 4 items you get from “failed” tried) it’s simply better to sell the greens and buy the ectos you need.
