No for the 1 or 2 hours that some non-transmuted legendaries where actually ascended. (when ascended gear first came out.) they had a small stat and weapon damage increase In the axes case it was 928-1134 with 98 power 70 toughness 70 vitality instead of the 857-1048 90/64/64 that exotics currently carry. So there will be an increase stat wise. As far as infusions I hope that 1 of 2 things happens.
1. They keep infusion SLOTS to being just on trinkets.
2. If they add infusion slot slots to armor to keep normal slots there as well so I and many others can still use runes if we want.
Same with sigils.
But really having a full set of infused armor/weapons/trinkets with full infusion slots in trinkets alone would be 100 resist to agony. That would seem to be enough.
Also from what I can tell Ascended amulets will probably carry (in Beserkers case) stats like 98 power 70 precision 6% crit damage with its “jewel” being 32 power, 18 precision 4% crit damage for a total of 130/88/10. Though this is just speculation but probably a good guess considering that amulets (not including jewels) have the same stats as 1h weapons.

i was thinking about this a little more today and although it may be awhile until ascended weapons are released, what about people who use 2h vs 2*1h?
would it be fair that a hammer have an inherent base 10ar and as infused 20ar? because if it were just 5->10 it would put players who use them at a disadvantage in comparison to a player who uses 2*1h for a total of 20ar if each can be infused to 10ar. however, if 2h had base 10ar, people with a 2h legendary would have a leg up on those who use 1h…
i’m with dempsey that they do not put ar on weapons(even though i’ll have 2*1h legendaries by then) and stick to ar on trinkets and armor. this would solve the discrepancy between 2 handers and 2* 1 handers
You only need a small amount of AR unless your intending on doing level 5000 FotM I don’t think people would be interested in putting 5AR on a legendary instead of a sigil.
Speaking of infusing ascended items I have another question.
Let’s say I craft an ascended backpack(Koss on Koss for example). If I transmute a different backpack skin(mad king book, guild backpack or wintersday sack) on the ascended backpack, the item will still be ascended, but can I use it in the mystic forge after transmutation to infuse it for more agony resistance?
I dont think weapons will have agony resist, if anything they’ll have some sort of ascended damage that will be required for certain encounters or/and mobs.

i transmutated my mad king book with my ascended back and if i put in 1 ecto , 1 ascended gift then then the ascended back remain “lit” meaning i that the back in combination of the two materials is a valid recipe. so i’d say that yes, you can infuse it.
however i don’t know if the ascended back remain in its transmutated form or if i get the previous skin. but idc really 25 -> 30 AR doesn’t matter for me as i’m only farming lvl 28 and only doing 30+ with friends.

Ya the 35% population that left because of that had no effect at all. Great way to deal with it.
Anet stated they will always be bis with agony resistance so I suspect it will be baked in or can be added. If not keeping with their track record expect an epic grind to retrieve some new legendary transmutation device that is available for a small one time gem charge of 800 gems.
