i’ve been looking into finding a way to make my karma become worth something for the general public. i’m not in-game so i can’t check if you can sell cooking ingredients, but i figured there has to be a way to make some money off your karma. looking around the interwebs has me seeing bans from people who were trying it out…is that actually the case?

Karma-purchased cooking ingredients are all, to my knowledge, account bound. You could make finished items with them and sell those, however non-karma ingredients will likely be a limiting factor.

My understanding is that the banhammer has hit people not for spending karma on things and using those things to acquire coin or other wealth, but for the specific techniques used—exploit bugged vendors, etc.

Pretty Sure Peaches are karma bought and you could sell peach tarts et.

Problem is I think most of the cost of those is in the sugar/flower et.

You can do the Mystic Clover recipe using Obsidian Shards, and sell the non-Clover materials. However, it costs skill points, karma and a not insigificant amount of gold for each combine (20s ish between the Ecto and the Mystic Coin). Most of the time you won’t be coming out ahead from it though, even when it gives you T6 materials (usually only gives you like 3, which even for Powerful Blood is less than the cost of Coin + Ecto).

Sometimes you will get lucky and get a Lodestone out of if, but in general you’d be losing money.

I think that’s the case with basically anything that involves karma – the non-karma components make it either a loss or just unprofitable enough.

There was a time, just after the Trading Post has been released, where you were able to buy Cooking Egg’s or other stuff for Karma and sell them instantly in the Trading Post. It’s fixed right now.

Negative, karma is worthless in any large quantities for any people not after a legendary. Otherwise you need only the most trivial amounts for random recipes, salvage kits, and cooking mats.

You can of course purchase sub-standard gear if you not kitted out in exotics.

Is the gear made in the mystic forge sould bound? If not could be an option to buy gear, forge then TP it.

Of course, you’re gonna need either a lot of karma or a lot of luck to make much gold… possibly both.

Most of my Karma has gone to the Rare item recipes on the second/third tab of the Master crafters. But I like crafting, and have actually been able to make money at it.

You can use karma to buy green gathering tools from heart NPCs from Bloodtide Coast but they only have 25 uses. There are also some crafting recipes that use karma items.

Get 4 karma weapons, put them in the forge, sell the single weapon you get. That’s the only way to get (a few) money from karma afaik

I should also mention all level 60 rare weapon crafts.

Because this baby can be bought for karma, and it costs 1575 karma to make one piece of weapon. Naturally you need 2 other parts, but you can replace rare material+inscription with sun beads.

What? Did I just crash the market for those few doing them? Oh noes.

Couldn’t you… buy and salvage exotics from Orr for ecto or something?

I’d make those sun bead weapon if I didn’t have to click the bead merchant 75×.

You’d think they would at least sell them in stacks of 25x
