I have the bifrost and am just wondering is changing the sigil will make it exotic or if it will remain legendary. Thanks in advance

Changing the sigil won’t change it to exotic, but I believe transmuting it will.

Transmuting changes it because you are taking the stats of the exotic.
I don’t see why the sigil would alter it to an exotic since it doesn’t take on that stats of an exotic.

I haven’t gotten my legendary yet, only need karma and badges but I’m curious as well.
I THINK it won’t but don’t take my word for it.

i’ve heard that swapping the sigil out shouldn’t affect legendary status.
the name might change? am not entirely sure though. am working towards mine slowly right now..

part of me doesn’t wanan change anything to keep it as is – in it’s original, legendary form. but i am leaning towards switchingn out a sigil as well just because it makes more sense, practical wise. :ppp

I just put in a “SUperior Sigil of Battle” and it didn’t change andything, not even the name, so you can change the sigil with no problem.

I can also confirm i just put in Superior Sigil of Fire into Twilight which came with Superior Sigil of Leeching….and everything is the same..its still legendary, still same name, stats….its all good. Go ahead and swap sigils, you nothing to worry about.

Can I do it with precursors as well?

I asked this question in a tread a couple weeks back. Still no answer.

I think I have read that you can change the sigil on precursors without causing any harm for your legendary upgrade. However, dont take my word for confirmation as I currently dont own a precursor so I havent tested that myself just yet.

for the precursor, i wouldn’t mess around with it too much.
a part of me wants to say it HAS to be of the rage too. least at the moment of crafting it and throwing it into the forge. i’ve a feeling if it’s not “…of Rage” you won’t even be able to toss it in the forge. and seeing precursors as they are, no one would want to risk that to test it.

as to switching out the sigil for use, and then switching back in a sigil of rage when you do plan to craft it, that i’m unsure of it will work. though it seems that switching sigils don’t have lasting/permanent change effects on weapons.

again, don’t quote me. but to be safe, i’d leave them as is.

some small evidence, for the corrupted weapons (recipes from the vendor after you defeat claw of jormag), it seems you need the “…or Rage” precursors as well. i.e. shaman’s etched … of rage. i crafted the dagger this way. and for the hammer, i tried using a shaman’s etched of whatever, and it wouldn’t slot into the recipe. the recipe doesn’t state you need “…of Rage” quality iirc, but then again, there’s no “recipe” to be bought for legendaries. but a gain, to be on the safe side…

I currently own “The Dreamer”. when i had the “The Lover” i did change my sigil and i was able to still make my legendary with no problems what so ever. Cheers!
