“ALL IS VAIN”

I feel the crafting and gathering aspects of gw2 is severely lacking.
This game is very action based and a high paced game, but sometimes I would like to just slow down the pace with crafting and gathering.
I would like to see the process of creating something. From mining ores in the mines, process the ore and make into bars and then creating the armor afterwards.
For cooking, perhaps get wheat and make some flour with the many grinding mills. this would make locations worth visiting and most importantly memorable. I would go to queensdale for flour since it has so many farmfields and mills. This will make even higher lvl players to travel back to mid to low lvl areas and have something to do.
Have people go places to get materials and a place to process them – and a place to finally craft. have a little more people so you can see more people on the roads making this game seem to have more of a community.
perhaps material based maps such as mines and logging camps?.
There should also be fishing to expand the market and to increase cooking craftings.
the current system is you MUST go and explore to fight, explore to level, explore to find dungeons, and if you have nothing to do? EXPLORE. Now even if you want to craft – explore. Eventually there won’t be much to explore anymore. currently GW2 is a thick book of connect the dots where ppl rushing vista, poi, skill points to complete a map moving on to the next. Gathering is more like hide n seek and not really natural.
It just doesn’t feel right to so focus on exploration as a way of playing without a lasting appeal once finished/ explored / connected the dots.
about 3 paragraph down of ur post. you asking them yeah to put mills in. but then theirs mills in Runescape. there’s mines in runescape too.
I’m one of those people that goes out everyday (1~2 hours) to gather up materials, I sell most (makes 3 g a day), but I keep the mithril and wood to create rares, which I salvage for ecto’s. Even tough I can collect between 150~200 mithril a day, the amount need to create 250 eto’s is much more. It takes me so long, because I stop by almost every event.
I go out and “explore” to also get my daily so I don’t mind the current system. Yes Orr is annoying as kitten, but in full exotic armor/weapon/jewels (not magic find gear) I can take down groups of risen at a time. I does slow the process but I need the exp anyway. 200 SP for a bloodstone shard is no joke. Only 1 type of risen gives me problems and that is the one that throws purple orbs at you.
ps: i only play max between 1 and 3 hours a day.
Im not planning to make a legendary, and I haven’t play runescape since classic. My point is just a change of pace would be good and have something we can do without fighting too much. I love the fighting parts but I think it is better to balance the two to have elements n the game that is chilled and not always have to fight an army for hours in order to proceed.
I just overall like crafting for what it is, and I just want to see views on a different paced way of incorporating crafting while fixing small issues such as deserted maps, etc.
