hello guys/gals,
this is probably old discussion topic but i need advice as to how to get precursor.. i have come to almost ready to craft my legendary but i am missing out the precursor

please help if you have a good advice of how to get this as i have tried farming dragon chest and putting exotic weapons (of similar type) and rare weapon into mystic forge and no luck after wasting so many of them

There is no affect with the order or sigils. Just using 4 will have ~20% chance to get an Exotic Dagger. If you use anything other than a Dagger as one of the 4, you will get a Weapon or Armor back (weapon if you only use 4 weapons, armor or weapon if you use 4 weapons/armors).

Additionally, if you use all level 80’s, you will only get a level 80 back, but if you use anything not level 80, there is a chance to not get a level 80 item back.

Lastly, using a Mystic Forge Stone instead of one of the items, 3 items + 1 forge stone, will give you ~10% higher chance to upgrade, but will give you any weapon type back (if you use 3 weapons).

My best piece of advice if you really want a legendary is to throw all greens into the MF, all rare into the MF, and either sell your Exotics so you can save up for it, or throw all your Exotic Weapons into the MF.
This approach will net you a chance at getting any precursor, which you can use to sell or trade for another one. Trading is a faster approach, but it is less reliable. I would not suggest it unless you have a close friend that has one. Someone whom has mutual trust with you.

i personally have spent over 200g in the forge on rares to get dusk.
Havent gotten anything…

My friend is currently at 470g spent on the forge trying to dusk.

RNG is RNG my friend…
Meaning there is no set way.. its called a random drop.

And no there is no “factor” that helps you forge better.
Again RNG is RNG…

Best suggestion I can offer: Consider building a few of the high end exotics and selling them, then buying your precursor on the TP.

You can RNG the forge, some people have claimed to have gotten a precursor on their 5th try… or, you can sure thing the TP, but you have to be able to afford the going rate.

If you’re s gambler start tossing stuff listed above in the forge.

If you’re conservative start saving gold and selling everything else.

While doing this run dungeon paths and hit the dragon chests.
