I am wondering what exactly the “XX percent chance to salvage rarer material” means on salvaging kits. I would think this means you have a chance of salvaging a RARE crafting material, which according to the wiki is like lodestones and cores and stuff. Yet Ihave salvaged thousands and thousands of items and have never, one single time received something like that from salvaging (except ecto, but that’s only from yellows). So does this just mean that if an item can give me mithril or ori that I have a percent chance of getting ori? Because otherwise there’s no point in using anything but a crude salvaging kit on greens, blues, and whites.

Rare materials is in this case are things like orichalcum and gossamer. So yeah, crudy salvage kit for green,blues,whites and mystic/black lion for rares/exotics.

Thanks. I am pretty sure I’ve received ori from blue and greens before, but maybe the price difference vs chance of getting rare material is not worth it?

So far we still don’t know since some of us test that salvaging with crude kit still able give T6 mats.
