i don’t know. call me cheap, but, it doesn’t seem to be worth it to waste the money on the superior sharpening stones (6%/4%) vs the hardened sharpening stones (5%/3%), especially considering the superiors are so much more expensive. maybe i’m just a cheap/lazy kitten, but, for my build, i only get around and extra 30 power, if that.

Superiors dropped massively in price with the ascended patch because it was a cheap way to level towards 450. Haven’t checked if they’re back up already.

The reason the regular superior versions are cheap is because there’s a potent superior version, & they last twice as long, and only cost 20% more to craft then normal ones. You’ll get alot better return selling them vs regular superior ones, but the recipes are expensive like 20g on the trading post now.

the current buy order price for superior sharpening stones is about half the amount it costs to make them. as Tom said, this is due to people wanting to level their weaponsmith. the other superiors are similar but not as bad.
however, that just makes your point even more – even at half price, they are still too expensive for you :P
the difference between them is only 2%, but 2% of 3000 is 60. that’s not a small number to scoff at compared to other foods.
personally, I carry around like 8 different foods ranging from cheap to expensive. cheap I will use anywhere and everywhere for even the slightest cause (by cheap I mean less than 20c each). expensive (2-10s, such as superior sharpening stones) get used in places like dungeons or invasions or wvw.
