Yeahhhh. But if someone is just wanting to buy obby shards, which is what OP is asking for, I wouldn’t recommend an RNG box as a good option.

In that case you don’t even need any open temple. There is a vendor in Fort Trinity and other places that are always available.

In that case you don’t even need any open temple. There is a vendor in Fort Trinity and other places that are always available.

orrian boxes are the worst karma -> obsidian shard rate you can find.

A little tip for the future:

If you type /wiki Obsidian Shards in-game you will open the wiki-page for that subject.

I was sure I had seen Obby Shards at the other temple Karma dealers. Only Balth one in Straits. My bad.

What is the best days/times for the temple of Balthazar in NA. the last 5 or 6 times I was there it wasn’t open and I’m trying to get my shards for Ascended Crafting!

I don’t know if there’s really a known good time. Probably after reset and during the weekends imo, when the most people from NA are on.

You can try guesting. The problem is, you only get 2 tries and can end up on the shard you came from each time. Other than that, just check frequently. If you don’t want to waypoint each time to check, maybe you can leave an alt in that area.

can’t guest anymore. well, you /can/, but it doesn’t help. only reason to guest now is to get credit for guild missions.

Also, one or two of the latter reward boxes from the LS2 storyline (I wasn’t watching which) gave me 1-2 obsidian shards each when I opened them.

You have a shot at 1-5 obsidian shards from the buried treasure chests in Dry Top also.

it might be worth waiting until a crowded time (prime time or weekends?) and stand at the Straits portal with Mount Malsrom and zone in and out to try and get into a different server (you can use /IP in chat to view the current server IP address) that might have it opened.
