Abaddon battle is lost forever
Can’t wait for Half Life: Asura Edition
Alright, let’s start an Abaddon Kickstarter. On Monday morning we’ll take whatever’s been made for the fund, but gems, convert it to gold and buy out the remaining 2%. Wooh!
I only need one reason to vote Kiel. The only good Charr is a dead Charr .
Stop living in the past, meat.
Vote asura -that is all.

The Black Lion Trading Co. is too big to fail! Do we want to support the revolving door between pirate government and mangy Charr traders? Tell Great Northern Wall Street NO! Vote Keil.
That being said, I would have voted in favor of Abbadon anything… had it not been in the fractals. As it stands the election for me came down to virtually useless WP cost reduction, and absolutely useless key prices. That, and who wants a Charr running things? Look at how they’ve treated Ascalon. Now go look how Kryta shimmers.
No sympathy for the Devil, keep that in mind.

We actually do know what happened but still the fall of abaddon would also mean new art assets.

ok as far as i care , i had enough of abbadon with GW1 , its time for new stuff related to GW2 , since GW1 has been and gone , i would vote Evon if they changed it from Abbadon to something more interesting that happened between GW1 and 2 , or even from charrs past in general , it makes no sense for someone that has no gods (charr) to be trying to do something that relates to a human god? <,< add to that , evon is a jerk so im going with Kiel ftw

But the human gods had an impact on the world. It’s not like they are a part of a religion that can’t prove that their gods exist.

This. IRL I’m an atheist all the way. I don’t consider my character “religious” when Balthazaar actually lends me his dogs every 4 minutes, and his great great grandpappy actually spoke with gods.

I’m not I’m stating the truth .
I’m realy hapy that Kiel is winning. Face harsh truth, fractal involving epic battle of 6 gods would fail hard, like Zaithan fight version 2 … Epic expetations = epic fail.
Plus, almost noone who’s still playing GW2 right now has any sentimental connection to Abaddon. Compare that to the experience of pre-nerf thaumanova a heck of a lot more active players had and you’ve got yourselves a winner.
So all the people I see with the God Walking Among Mere Mortals title are just figments of my imagination? Who knew?

“almost noone”
Still i doubt they have the numbers to back up the statement . Who knows how many players playing GW2 played GW1
I wonder how different this would have been if Evon had his own living story content before hand.
This. It was entirely lopsided in Ellen’s favour. I called it from the start.
Hot chick.
Player is familiar with character.
Seen as hero. It’s a no brainer for the ones with no brains.
Yes. And, I don’t know about anyone else, but I see the Black Lion Trading company (which is very closely affiliated with the Trading Post and Gem Store) in a somewhat dubious and infamous way—trading cost at 15% is too high; almost usury! and prices in the Gem Store, basically the whole shebang, is a scam.
Ellen Kiel FTW!!

I see a lot of people with that title. Many every day. I’m pretty sure it’s not almost no one.

What did she actually do? Maybe I missed a part of the story but last time I checked we did all the work and she took the credit for it. If she wins we get after Trahaerne our next Kormirclone.

Asking around there seems to be confusion and a belief that both fractals will be created at some point…it’s like real life politics- “oh that will never happen”. Players are looking at immediate things (WP costs vs keys they never buy) instead of the cost down the road(the better fractal). Wait a few months for “When are we getting the abaddon one? I thought it was coming after reactor.”
I only need one reason to vote Kiel. The only good Charr is a dead Charr .
The olny good human is dead human. Time to make a raid to Kryta and exterminate anything that moves on 2 feets. No, gods won’t help u as we will turn them into fastfood to our lovely devourers

Everyone knows Keil is the human female verson of Trahearne -.-
RIP City of Heroes
As a GW1 player, the prospect of Kiel winning sucks, and yet more intriguing lore will be lost in the annuls of time all thanks to a temporarily lower waypoint fee, of which most people bypass by going to Lions Arch through either PvP or WvW, or just leave characters in their farm spots and using WvW as their access-any-time bank.
The potential of the Thaumanova Reactor fractal, whilst ‘closer’ to GW2 lore, is significantly smaller than what the Abaddon could have been, in the first instance we have a already well acquainted with and incredibly aggravating enemy in the Inquest, who we already fight in a number of sections of the open world, personal story and Fractals; and we’re inevitably tasked with finding out how something Asura related blows up – yay, as if we don’t see that everywhere else in almost every Asura related instance.
And we miss out on a instance where we witness the fall and or sealing of a god, where we could have even been the actual gods or aspects of them in order to seal him away, having to fight potential hordes of Margonites or whatever else from the Realm of Torment, let alone Abaddon himself, maybe for the first time seeing what Orr was like before it was sunk into the depths, before the Charr invaded even. Maybe we would even see the start of the Exodus where the Gods left Tyria after Abaddon fell, the beginnings of the Crystal Desert, the Forgotten fighting alongside as Allies, and so much more.
But no, it is looking as if we are stuck with yet more Inquest, and we have the Kiel-loving, temporary-lower-waypoint-cost-despite-price-being-reasonable, ‘new’-yet-often-repeated-‘hijinks’-of-the-Asura crowd to thank.
No matter how you Kiel lovers try to spin it, you made a bad choice and the whole community is going to suffer for it.
If people read this^^ they might finally get it and vote evon.

Go back to your monastery to grovel before your gods. Maybe you can ask them why they abandoned you? If they give an honest answer (which I doubt they will), it would probably be because the dragons will murder them if they show their faces.
It’s an interesting choice ANet has given us here.
On one hand, they make us choose between the two races that have, historically anyway, the biggest beef with each other. A lot of GW1 players might choose human because of that.
On the other hand, choosing a human means choosing GW2 lore over GW1 lore. Seems fairly obvious to me they want GW1 vets to make a hard choice here: Human or God Battle…can’t have both.
For new players…it doesn’t really matter much. I suspect they’d want the Reactor Fractal though…it’s fresh and a well-known new character event.

Pretty much a contradiction, since if you played GW1 you already know whats going to happen in the Abaddon fractal.
Also, vote Kiel. Roleplayers unite! Evon just sounds like a bad guy IMO. Like he would cheat you at an instant.

No you don’t, it’s the Fall of Abaddon that triggered the Gods to leave Tyria A.K.A. The Exodus, not Kormir jumping into a dying God, gaining all his knowledge in the progress.
Ofcourse, we already know that Abie fell and the Gods left, but how did it happen? Was it a huge fight all over Tyria? Perhaps Good (players) vs bad (Margonites) in the Crystal Sea, maybe we’ll even see the Crystal Sea becoming a desert. My point is, you know very less of what actually happened.

So what the real question is which scenario do you think would be more enjoyable? This has nothing to do with lore then. No one knows which one will be better. Only those who have beta tested it.
Either way, both fractals will be put in. One will just be put in at a later date. A company can’t just create content that is polished and works correctly and then just throw it away.
To be honest, I always felt that this was a decision between getting to watch Chernobyl (a relatively recent event that has left enough evidence to be researched in the now) versus getting to watch the Crucifixion of Christ (an event of the distant past, whose existance is widely debated and even outright contested and would require time travel to actually learn about).
Personally, I feel that Abaddon makes sense as a Fractal while the Reactor makes more sense as a Dungeon/Dynamic Event/World Boss type deal.

Which is why the content hasn’t even begun to be created, tested, and is far from working. A dev post clearly said that they will only work on one and that they will not make the other.
Thank Grenth this game is not as full of furries as I was afraid

All I have to say is I just wanted the Abaddon fractal, if it isn’t added, PvE on this game is dead for me, the temp content in this game sucks, I only ever liked fractals and just wanted the Abaddon fractal, if I don’t get it, and skill lag issues persist in WvW, this game is its own endgame.

About to turn in another 100 tickets for kiel. xD

I went with Kiel cause I liked how they did her personality. The fractal and WP cost reduction were not really considerations for me.

I vote Kiel because i wont have a black lion RNG box selling charr as a leader. Also, why do you want old lore when you can have new one? #Teamkiel!

Good God, when will people understand? Evon isn’t selling you the boxes, ArenaNet is. Got a problem with that? Don’t buy gems; show them you disagree with their business practices.
The only thing of consequence offered by this election was the fractal and the Fall of Abaddon sounded way better than Thumanova. There are few other events in lore, if any, which would’ve been as interesting as that. But I guess the community made it easier for ANet, because they can just reuse Asura assets. Pat yourselves on the back, Kiel supporters.

Yeah, because a recycled Fire Ele fight, that happens every hour, is so desirable.
I’m glad, a lot of the people in this thread pining for Gnashblade basically overhyped it for me. So I stopped voting for gnashblade and instead voted for kiel.
I’ll get a good laugh at all the QQ posts about the elections tonight.
