Something as big as Gods vs Gods conjures up pretty grand things. They’re gods after all.
If Evon won, this already extremely hyped fractal will be hyped up even more in the months preceding its release. There’s no way that fractal in our minds will live up to whatever Anet may eventually make. People will say how bad it is, or might even say its Zhaitan 2.0.

I think things turned out for the better, for both ArenaNet and the players. We get a fractal that wasn’t overhyped, and so people go in with more realistic views. ArenaNet isn’t prisoned into living up to hype, and so can focus and making things work.

I agree. This hype and brainstorming on “how awesome the abaddon fractal will be!!!” was just getting way too much. People from my understanding were picturing that this fractal would literally be seeing the gods fight against Abaddon. There is no way Anet would make a fractal like that showing off the gods. At the most, we would see their avatars, not the gods themselves (and if we did see the gods, wouldn’t we be blinded?)

No seeing the gods does not instantly blind you. it’s more akin to staring the sun, except it takes longer. Even if it’s just avatars, it’s still usually a pretty cool battle.

Honestly, I think that this image perfectly describes the situation now.
