Please.

Stop basing your support on some meager temporary price reduction on keys/waypoints, which will only last a month.

I know theres a dozen threads like this, but I still feel people are basing their decision on inconsequential matters.

The Fall of Abbadon. – A god who gave Tyria it’s access to magic. The fractal likely to take place in the Crystal Sea. Which gives us our first true Ocean/Seafaring dungeon, not like the underground water one we have now.

Thaumanova Reactor – Asura’s build something, and it blew up, caused a tear in reality or something to that affect. Crucible of Eternity v2?

Unfortunately Kiel has one advantage, She’s the goody two-shoes human captain of the guard, who fights for justice blahblah blah blah…

Everyones a sucker for the “good guy”.

abbadon is a Big part of the lore and a great enemy, The reactor thingy i bet will be just a instance whit a bunch of asura fighting the consortium thats is nothing meaningless to the story lore.

We just don’t want players to grind in Guild Wars 2. No one enjoys that.

wait, you say abaddon is a bit part of the lore, and then go on to know nothing about the thaumanova reactor? The consortium were rival merchants involved with southsun cove, thaumanova reactor was destroyers and inquest, and speculated to have something to do with the steam creatures.

1. M’kay, since you asked so nicely.

2.I’m not seeing very much in the way of support for this part of their campaigns. Here and there it’s mentioned, but they’re not the popular discussions. It’s more of a temporary perk we already receive in-game at random (for the keys) times or whenever your guild decides it’s worth the unfluence.

3. They’re basing off speculation that their specific fractal will be uber awesome and the other is mundane and just “x”. It’s actually hilarious that people think it’s a great argument, when they know nothing themselves, yet claim it to be better then everything and the other is bland and boring.

4. Possible, the fall of abaddon isn’t specified clearly, it could be at the time of his falling or shortly after with the destruction creating the Crystal Desert and The Devestation. If it’s during, it’ll either take place in Orr at or to his temple or in his domain where he was defeated. Note that the desert occurred because of his defeat, but he wasn’t defeated there, that effect came from…just some final blow that’s vaguely mentioned.

5. The inquest created a core that immensely powerful, and can be found in Brisband Wildlands now as an embarrassingly light guarded skill point. The meltdown was caused because of some interference by destroyers apparently, what we see is the husk of the building with a massive portal overhead. The core was able to power everything in the facility, the explosion released mass amounts of chaos energy that warps time and space in the region, even causing some interference outside of itself with the steam creatures.

6. It’s not even that, she’s not entirely a goody two-shoes. She destroyed the ship carrying the contracts as well as going on a hunt for vengeance against Mai for making a mockery of her. She’s more Lawful Neutral.

A lawful neutral character acts as law, tradition, or a personal code directs her. Order and organization are paramount to her. She may believe in personal order and live by a code or standard, or she may believe in order for all and favor a strong, organized government.

Lawful neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you are reliable and honorable without being a zealot.

Lawful neutral can be a dangerous alignment when it seeks to eliminate all freedom, choice, and diversity in society.

However it doesn’t seem anyone gives two crap’s worth about who gets in the office, but the reward for who does. I’d rather if they kept it quiet about which they were building until AFTER the election, but they’ve definitely given Gnashblade an easier time at winning. This was more or less intentional because we see a lot of good in Kiel, but Evon’s just kinda been there.

The Reactor does sound a lot more interesting to me simply because we already know what happened because of Abaddon. We don’t quite know what the reactor did, outside of the immediate effect of being broken afterwards.

From the hinting, something… else… happened.

And I agree, they’ve more or less intentionally given Gnashblade the more interesting rewards for many players because without that, Kiel would certainly have won.

All i will say is Abbadon was an amazing dancer! He served us all with his impeccable moves. (And I hope people will get that reference, or i will be a sad panda). I for one will be voting for Gnash just because of that!

Fortunately this works in my favor, because the mentality of mankind seems to think “Wait, that item is worth real money… But its CHEAPER! I must buy it!”. With that in mind, I feel Gnash will win simply because of the keys, even though Lion Chests are pretty rubbish and completely RNG.

Now, it would probably be better to not have these “cheaper incentives” at all, but I understand what Mathog said in that people who don’t like lore need something to vote for.

All hail Abbadon, the great dancing god!

this comment is true and makes me sad,

Some games have features that show allow a player to preview another and see how much they’ve completed in the single player campaign (halo, sc2, killzone etc). You’d be surprised how many haven’t either done it, or have on the easiest setting possible. There’s a reason why most MMO’s implement fast scrolling on their npc’s with text, they know some care to read why, but a lot just couldn’t care less. Then again there’s these gems that make really want to sit down and as the developer what were they thinking. (Image Below)

Our character’s response to this NPC’s tale is absolutely embarrassing, I’m surprised I wasn’t killed by her for the response. To think I went with charming as my character’s personality (even if you go with dignity, it doesn’t change). Then again personality doesn’t fit into anything even though there are ten different personalities you can have.

My Grammar isn’t half as bad as some of the posters you see on here.

So all you’ve done by making such a petty statement is show that you are an ignorant individual who likes to lord their use of the english language over others like some sort of trophy to be held in high esteem.

Thaumanova Reactor

This place is actually one of the most popular places when Fire Ele event starts. The event is held in Thaumanova Reactor That lab exploded causing strange things to appear, it torn the reality and if you look up a portal lies upon the lab. Also people who have done Steam Ogre event in that lab have a better view of portal above the reactor.

Fall of Abadoon

Abaddon a human god of darkness or w/e. The story is pre-guild wars so no one has seen how it happened. Its actually more interesting than some asura lab because its about dark secrets yet not unveiled. We dont know whats hiding in the depths of crystal desert

This is the internet, where logic comes to die, brutally and bloody. It’s best to ignore stuff like this, but if it does get to you, proof reading is your best friend. Oh and reading it out loud does help a bunch, sometimes you’ll read it in your head and it’ll come out sounding fine, but when spoken, that’s where the easily missed faults are noticed.

I don’t see waypoint cost reduction anything amazing to be honest because before now I never really heard people complain about their already trivial cost, it was worked out to on average in 4 weeks the cost total of waypoints is maybe 3g for the average person which is money that average group of people make back on the first day. if they are using them to farm already. However a price drop on keys could drop it by 10 gems which is a helluva lot more impact in the current ingame economy.

Also, to me atleast Evon appeares as the less paragon of a character, and I would like a pirate with that attitude to go onto the council. I belive on Piken Square we have players going to start Roleplaying a campaign for Gnashblade! But will it be enough?

Instead of paying 2S WP cost you’ll pay 1S.
Rejoice!
No but seriously, you can earn more than 1G/hour even without farming, WP costs are irrelevant, unless you’re poor.

Since gems are bought from money, the two are ultimately comparable. But the important thing here is that we’re voting Kiel vs Gnashblade, not Waypoints vs Keys.

that’s the thing though – are most people invested enough in the story, in the characters, in the background lore to really think abuot Kiel vs Gnashblade?

i can easily imagine people saying, “meh. cheaper WPs, and i don’t buy keys, so i guess i’ll vote for kiel!”

Most people I talk to just decide by “Pirate human woman from Southsun” versus “Charr guy who runs the BLTC”.

That’s a pretty fair assessment in any case because it focuses on the characters themselves, as presented ingame.

Then maaaaybe they add “Thaumanova Reactor” (they know what it is but got no clue what the fractal could be) versus “Fall of Abaddon” (never heard of him, apparently from GW1, fall of a human god).

I really think that the polarization mostly happens when players played GW1. To the players just being ingame, they consider Fall of Abaddon as just some backstory to be added, explaining one of the human gods, Kormir. And just like it, the other one explains the explosion of the reactor.

The strength of heart to face oneself has been made manifest. The persona Carighan has appeared.
