In Europe, politicians campaign on promises, not by trashing their opponent. The current clips would be completely unacceptable in Belgium, Germany or Holland, three countries I visit weekly. Politicians approving such garbage would be voted out of office by landslides. Both managed to put a complete damper on this release for me.

I’m extremely happy politics in my countries of residence have not been hijacked by superPACs. I hope the story will be a bit more about proper politics and less about corruption and trash talking.

Thanks for your time. Feel free to report me if honest criticism doesn’t stand. I just feel this release takes the worst of one democracy instead of promoting Kiel and Evan on their own merits like what happens in the rest of the developed world.

OP is a dirty citizen from Cantha.

We don’t appreciate your kind here from Tyria. Take your politics back home or to Elona.

Yes, and I’d like to see fun and entertaining things. I’m very interested in politics in the real world, especially american politics. SuperPACs, however, ain’t politics and ain’t fun. They’re depressing. I don’t want a depressing game

Did you know that marnick.4305 has never said they don’t approve of throwing baby charr off cliffs? What does marnick.4305 have to hide? If marnick.4305 is against throwing baby charr of cliffs why don’t they just come out and say it?

Vote Evon if you’re against throwing baby Charr off cliffs.

Funny. When I saw those ads, I thought "Yeah, those are political commercials."

Then again, I’m in America, and our politicians are pretty much kittens.

It’s unfortunate that American politicians have nothing better to do than mudsling, but I’m not sure our culture would have a clue how to handle a politician that actually had an original productive thought in his/her head.

However, as has been pointed out, Lion’s Arch is a city of pirates, and ANet likes to make cultural references, so it’s quite possible they’re making a satirical statement about mudslinging politicians and pirates.

I’m pretty sure Anet meant it as a parody.
