Is it even worthwhile to try and select a difficulty? I just completed a tier 2, then afterwards select ’let’s do that again’, and it promotes me to tier 3. When I came into it today, I was starting at Tier 4. So I select ‘take this down a few notches’. It gives me Tier 1. So I complete it and then select ‘take this up a notch’. It gives me Tier 4 again. Why not just put in a system where you can flat out select which Tier you want to do? This is flat out ridiculous.

Top option is highest tier you’ve unlocked.
Lowest option is tier 1.

Middle options are tier 2/3 if you’re at tier 3/4.

In a word: no.

Edit: Esplen seems to be right. How “let’s take it down a notch” doesn’t imply “let’s take it down a notch” from the last time you were here blows my mind. So the 4 options just refer to the 4 tiers.

Would be nice, though, if they put (Tier 1 , 2 etc.) after those comments so you could be really sure.

I also think this could be more clearly explained in the options.

yes, but the current system dun have brackets i.e. (tier 4) behind the options!

It’s not that hard to count.

You go from the bottom.

Tier 1.

The one right above the bottom one is…

Tier 2.

The one above that (if it is there) is…

Tier 3.

And lastly, the uppermost one will be…

Tier 4 (or whatever is the highest tier you’ve gotten to).

It’s not very intuitive because the dialogue refers to your account’s maximum unlocked setting, which can get confusing if there are multiple players with different levels in your game. But as a general rule, this is how I think it works:

- “Let’s take it up a notch” = Increase the Tier by 1.
- “Let’s do that again” = Stay the same as the last Tier you played, UNLESS it’s the first match after entering, in which case it defaults to the highest Tier you’ve unlocked.
- “Let’s take this down a notch” = Decrease the Tier by 1.
- “Let’s take this down a few notches” = Decrease the Tier by 2.
- “Woah, let’s take this way down!” = Decrease the Tier by 3.

There are probably equivalent options if you’re playing on T1 and have T3/T4 unlocked to increase the Tier by a large amount, although I personally haven’t seen them.
