Candidate Trials T4 Hard but doable
Thanks for the tips. The group i was in failed around 6 times. We had the pull down decent and we hid behind the rocks but i guess we lacked the interrupts at the end.
I was able to 2-man this with my wife (2x zerker thief p/p) following something similar. We just Scorpion Wired them to us near the rocks (where the mortars pop, which you can ignore), and burned them down in a few seconds. Alternating Head Shots can interrupt their loot-throws, but we still lost a few bags since they can still throw them away from their intended location. Whenever we pulled aggro from vets, we’d alternate Shadow Refuge, and they’d shortly walk off near center/back.
Before this, I tried a 5-man group and well, that didn’t go so well!

So does it scale with group size? Is there less vets with 2 people?
We had so many vets spawn in the same place as the plunderers that we were overwhelmed. We tried every combination of zerker, and bunker we could think of.
It feels like it scales with a group, but having at least a second person provides utility necessary to keep things going smoothly — at least with 2 thieves. ;P We’d have to kill a couple running back due to vets spawning with some, but can get away with only losing 1-2 bags (no biggie?).
This is stupid hard. As in how stupid were the dev’s to create this? Even as a shout warrior I can’t clear the insane amount of conditions being applied. It’s starts off ok, then after the ele’s start to spawn, it’s over shortly after. I’m at 25 stacks of vulnerability and boiled down in 2 seconds. It’s ridiculously hard.
And, if there’s a gimmick like stand in this one spot, that makes this design that much worse.
Projectile denials and reflects are good against the Grenadiers. Prioritize killing the Strikers because they deal the most unavoidable damage. (Unless you are really good at interrupting their Arc Lightning)
Main thing with t4 is that you cant survive with the veterans on you. Completed it with a 5-man guild party and i loved the difficulty on this <3. But yea, better fight out of the veterans by the rock and pull the lil stealers.
The mobs hp scales with group size. I worked out this pull strategy solo after trying a los strat with my guild. Was very easy with beserker necro + spectral grasp and chain imob. When solo its really easy to burst down the plunderers in a couple of hits and it also seems to be easier to avoid vet aggro and make them leash.
I’m sorry, I hate this level of difficulty. I’ve tried it numerous times. There is simply no way my build can beat this. Thus, I turned the game off. I’m getting annoyed at how even PvE difficulty is getting ramped up to please a few.
I did the 4 tiers on both candidates by myself. You don’t need to fight the veterans and other mobs, i just stayed near the place where the plunderes and the cannons spawn and kept killing the plunderers, you don’t get agro from the veterans if you stay behind where the cannons spawn. I got bronze medal on the end of tier 4 but still got the achievement ^^
I was using knights gear on my warrior, so i had good defense and was able to kill the plunderers with the rifle.
The mob count doesn’t scale up, but the health and damage does.
i 2 manned t4 earlier with 1 thief and 1 mesmer. it was very rough but if you can sync with your partner or communicate well you should be able to do it.
- As was mentioned in first post that place behind rock near the runner spawns is best. Just stay there and dont run any further.
- Do everything to NOT agro other mobs. If its happend pull them behind rock and kill them asap especialy strikers. If you are carefull you can do it incredibly easy without agro any mob.
- Imo berserk is best way to do it. Engi with pull is really needed also warrior with mace provide nice stun but without engi you pretty much havent chance to catch right one safely.
- Disable and kill runner as fast as possible. If he run too far just leave him and catch him on way back.
- Take -40% condi duration food its help a lot.
Tekkit’s Workshop
Good tips above.
Tried with a pick-up group of 5 earlier tonight and we were unsuccessful though we got painfully close on one attempt.
My characters think I’m crazy.

I tried this, but I started getting aggro. I think they fixed it. :/
PvE Main – Zar Poisonclaw – Daredevil
WvW Main – Ghost Mistcaller – Herald
I did it solo on my zerk ele after patch today, but the mobs did seem more aggressive than in the video I watched, and I died several times before getting it. Immobilize (signet of earth) is a must.
Endless Petrification Tonic
A shame, because it irritated me all to hell. The veterans seem hard to kill even when you’re berserker, but the strikers are far worse, which seems not only odd but a little OP. Everytime I’ve died in here, whether with a party or solo, it’s been to a Veteran Striker.

Did it after today’s patch. Didn’t even have to kill one veteran.
Kill the one spawning on the left. Rush the one on the right. You will aggro some mobs so run back all the way behind the big rock to lose the aggro, go back to the spot on the left. Rince and repeat.
A shame it’s actually easier to solo.
