Q:

Q:
Have anyone successfully done T4 with a full group of 5?
If so, what composition u guys had? What strategy?
My best attempt with a full group of 5 was copper on T3. Not sure how we would fare in T4.
The strategy involves:
- 2 single DPS camp at beach and only kill looters and mortars, stealth, go back around the rock, or swim out far to lose aggro.
- 2 tanks with heavy condi removals/ stunbreaks stay near gold, hold aggro and pretty much try to survive
- 1 CC specialist run back and forth to kite vets away from 2 DPS and deliver to 2 tanks.
All members should have decent CCs and focus fire on looters as much as possible.
Even then, I think it still requires extreme coordination which our group didn’t have because we were PUG and didn’t have voice chat or something.
Desperately need some advice to pull this thing off with my group. Any non-solo tip is very appreciated. Thanks a bunch

A:
@tencoderiot.6430 It is not impossible.
Done with a normal setup: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEMynZ-prUY&feature=youtu.be
Guardian, Necromancer, Engineer, Thief and Mesmer. No Zerker Warriors or similar groups alike.
Is all about coordination and knowing the ‘synergies’ of the classes in the group.
@tencoderiot.6430. Engineer was the key for us to finish it.
People seriously need to learn how to play this game properly, CoF and Zerker teams (mechanics way to simple for the casual players to be able to finish the content in the game) has dealt a lot of damage to the game and tbh is Anets fault for letting it go for months.
@Zhavari.7190
Thank you!
What do you mean by Gold Zhavari, 50 kills?You’re welcome. Yes, I was referring to the 50 kills mark. I noticed you were at 28 by the end and assume that hitting 50 would be quite an uphill climb.
@Zhavari.7190
It wasn’t the best setup for DPS wise, and I guess we can still go up about 5 to 10 kills of mobs (same group and some build changes), to hit the mark of 35 and get silver. Gold is something we will have to “craft” and come up with a group for it.But mainly we wanted to show that you don’t require a Zerker team or a perfect meta team to be able to do such a thing as T4, is just a matter of coordination and knowing what the classes are capable off. As example thief was pulling, blinding the mobs and constantly doing massive dps in 1 target (striker priority to not kill the guardian, then Plunderers when they came …), and if you look at the big picture of the game, Thieves are not so loved, just because people want to go for the easiest way.
@Groonz.7825
@Charak.9761It doesn’t escalate way to much, people simply doesn’t know how to play this game properly. As for a note, don’t go in with 4 zerker warriors and 1 mesmer.
I think I can stop complaining about the difficulty now. This team is awesome.

Just gather some good tips. Bump this thread so others can have a look
Hi Pinch, could you please describe your group composition and stragegy u guys used?
ThanksFull Support Guardian
Zerk Ele (Lightning Hammer)
Zerk War (GS/Axe)
Zerk Thief (S/D & S/P)
Zerk Mesmer (S/F, GS, pick up the other LH)Fight mobs next to the rock, rotate projectile blockers (100% uptime), spam blinds on the melee mobs. Pull the far plunderer to you, or have the Thief run out and daze spam if you get too many in a row. That’s honestly about it. Don’t forget to use consumables.
I’ve also done 35 kills with a Condi Necro and Zerk Engineer instead of the Ele/Mesmer. The one thing I noticed with that comp is that a lack of projectile blockers makes it much more difficult.
If you want to get 50 kills, you have to kill them fast. I don’t think you’d be able to do it with any less than 4 DPS. You can get away with 4 DPS easily with a full support Guardian bulking everyone else up (healing gear, symbols heal, large symbols, hammer autoattack symbol, virtue of resolve passive shared, boon duration, etc).
Lifesteal crit food helps a lot too. You take a lot of little damage, and it really helps out over the long run.
Mortars kill themselves with projectile reflects.
@Pinch: Thanks for your advice. I presume that your group is extremely well coordinated to pull it off. Do you think the strategy in my OP would work for a well coordinated group like yours? If it does somehow, i think my opinion on this content just turns from worst to best because it is a challenge requires the team work together and each member does what they do best (dps = kill fast, bunker = hold ground and survive, cc = pin mob down or move stuff around).
Again, really appreciate your advice.
I was the Guardian in Pinch’s group. As some advice, I’d say: You don’t need Condition Removal. All the Conditions are completely avoidably if you bring:
Two Guardians, or a Guardian and a Mesmer are pretty ideal for this. (Wall of Reflection, Shield of Absorption, Phantasmal Warden, Feedback, Temporal Curtain, etc.) This prevents much of the damage as well, stopping the Grenade damage from the Aetherblade Grenadiers.
The WvW bonuses make a difference as well, as they can provide up to 10% more health, damage reduction and increase in healing power. (Everyone heals since we all have a self heal; it matters)
@Nokaru: Thanks for your feedback.
Looks like a guardian is a must for any group composition.
Looks like a guardian is a must for any group composition.
That is true for all PvE.
If something is hard, get a Guardian.
If it’s still too hard, get a full support Guardian.
If it’s still too hard, get two Guardians.
So much for no healers!
