wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.
I bet you thought this was going to be yet another “congrats anet, hope you enjoy your inferior fractal…” and so on thread..
Actually, I’m being sincere in this one. Regardless of who won, regardless of whichever fractal might have been better or worse, or how good the one that won will be, or whether would have been better to save money on, keys or waypoints, one thing is for sure… it’s been a LONG time that I’ve seen any MMO community to emotionally invested into a content update, as it was in this election between two fictional characters, both in the game, on forums, and on reddit, twitter, facebook, etc.. Even if the amount of new content added wasn’t as much (though I must say I enjoyed aspect arena once I got the hang of it), this is as of now my favorite content update GW2 has had because of that.
Intermission over, you can now continue complaining as usual..
How is the community becoming divided at all a good thing?
Fantastic event, Anet! I’m impressed by how much passion people had for both characters. There was strong support on both sides. :b:
How is the community becoming divided at all a good thing?
I doubt anyone would take it that seriously.

I do!!! I’m quitting the game because Kiel won!!!! The game is a fraud!!!! The electionwas rigg.. eeer… wait a min… Kiel is the girl?…. oooh… WOOHOO!!! We won!!! we won!!!! best game ever!!!..
micro content sucks kitten , get ncsoft to fund an expansion so i can stop being bored already, i wanna kill another dragon kitten it
That too. Will we ever see AAA content out of Anet again?
An investment in Trahearne 2.0 and how boring one can make the living story become is what it was. I plan to save time and skip all elections or so called choices in this game in the future because it is quote clear from his event they are not real choices with how biased toward one character it was from the get go.
Also plan so skip every cut scene from here on out as well with her even remotely involved as I’d rather not get invested in another MMORPG on the path set to destroy it’s own interesting lore for something boring and generic.

Ah you missed the great Luxon Vs Kurzick faction wars of GW1 which forever divided the community
All we need now is a big pvp arena to settle differences!
I’d become a Gladium if they put that in and make sure every Kiel supporter was too miserable that queued up for it to ever think of getting back in the queue again. A small price they’d have to pay for the really bad living story we now have to put up with to be denied enjoyment from a new piece of content.
I, too, was really impressed by ArenaNet’s gambit from the get-go. I did not, however, expect so many rage quitters. Its laughable how a fictional election (based on a single Fractal) could spur so much hate.
If the self-proclaimed hardcore Gnashblade Abaddon supporters really loved Guild Wars they wouldn’t have quit over a single Fractal.

These are probably the same (American) people who think moving to Europe will magically solve all their problems. It’s pretty incredible how many people are kitten over this though, even as an Evon supporter…
I did find the voting pretty amusing though, because it mirrored real voting – people choosing a councilman because of their gender, race, and other non-job-related qualifications! Also, people can buy votes, just like real life!
How is the community becoming divided at all a good thing?
Anyone taking it that seriously is just being childish at this point.
I’d rather say the opposite… never have I been so reluctant to not vote. Both were terrible choises and gave little to no incentive to vote for them.
How is the community becoming divided at all a good thing?
Well, for one thing————-it DID allow for a lot of animated discussion
Second—————regardless of who “won”, we had 2 weeks of “nice” content (in a relative way)
Third———- again, regardless of the “winer”— the rewards will continue for awhile!!
All in all, a win for the community
How is the community becoming divided at all a good thing?
It will encourage large scale migrations to pvp!
Now that we all have a bone to pick with each other, we’ll start splitting up into teams to we can kill the rival faction.
