Aww man I was so looking forward to this, but I was disappointed when I saw that it was just a palette swap of the fervid censer. Not because it’s ugly, but because it has clipping issues with a lot of the female armors… I’m wearing Arah’s chestpiece now and it’s really hard to find a backpiece to go along with it and this would’ve been perfect.. If only that lower right leaf doesn’t curve it would’ve been perfect! T_T OR better yet, just remove that stupid leaf! the one on the shoulder is fine but the lower one clips really badly!
Anyway, I wonder why they chose this piece though.. How does it relate to the theme?

The name is ‘Desert Rose’ which originates (presumably) from the Southsun Survival PvP course.
Based on further speculation:
1) It’s a simple name for a reskinned item. Does it need a theme?
2) Evon’s contribution to FoTM is the ‘Fall of Abaddon’ which, if taken literally, is the very reason why the Crystal Desert became a desert. When he was cast down into the realm of torment by the other gods the land was transformed into an arid climate.
2a) This has nothing to do with the acquisition of the back piece, but certainly does coincide with a desert theme.
I sure hope I can get that. So far the flower has been my favorite back piece, and it would be nice to have one in another color. I thought I’d like my holographic wings more, but after (sadly) spending around 7g for them, I find I don’t wear them much. I’d love a wind back piece, but I’m not going to spend money on it this time. I think I learned my ‘ooo shiney lesson’.
Looks like the vine/plant part is a lot darker then the southsun cove one. :x I might have to toss in my glowy flower for this, it will probably match my Sylvari better with her grass dye (has red tints in it). But yay for RNG potentially? :/
