Since the “personal” story led up to fighting zhaitan, does that mean future personal stories will only come when a dragon comes?

Personally I’d like a mix of living story and expansions where the living story releases relevant parts and even zones to the storyline while leaving the expansions to big projects like elder dragons and their main zones or a major city.

Also, Colin said not this year for elder dragons, but in today’s day and age I have to ask, does that mean for 2013 or for the next 12 months? Considering how disapointing Zhaitan was I’d sure hope the next elder dragon be worked on very carefully so the fight itself is memorable.

Well, what do you define as personal story? Dragon Bash worked like a personal story.
Essentially, more personal story would require a legitimate expansion, not temporary bi-weekly content that leaves little lasting effect.

I’m pretty sure the purpose of the living story is to continue the personal story. You just don’t get updates on your hero tab calling it that.

I wouldn’t count this as a personal story because you arn’t visiting old characters. For flame and frost, yes that did lead my norn back to Eir and meeting Braham but I don’t hear word from the pact (sort of glad, by pact I mean the 3 orders not trahernia) or the few characters I met along the way in the order. It’s more so I’m just doing more good deeds elsewhere and kiel is my guide.

Living story is not ‘Personal Story’. We don’t even know if this living story is set before, during, or after the defeat of Zhaitan. This is a side-quest at most, or else it won’t be fair for the players who haven’t beaten Zhaitan. (and these events allow for upscaling of low level characters, letting new players participate)

Based on the twitch video from yesterday, they plan on doing something with Personal Stories again someday. At the moment Living Story is the story of the game overall and takes place after the Personal one.

I hope they do give us another chapter to the Personal Story someday.

I’d argue it was set after the personal story (and possibly eventually setting up another dragon fight, with Kralkatorrik (or any of them), in the future) but I don’t have anything concrete.

If this was set before Zhaitan then wouldn’t we have used his image for Dragon Bash instead of the Shatter. The Zypherites have mentioned Glint somewhat extensively and possibly guard her eggs/offspring, and Kralkatorrik killed her. You can even argue that either upcoming fractal may also lead towards this (when Abbadon fell he created the Crystal Desert, where Kralkatorrik is resting, and the other fractal can easily have something to do with the Elder Dragon energies).

I’d say that the Karka invasion started to set up “Bubbles” more.

And while I didn’t partake in F&F, from what I’ve seen, couldn’t that be related to Primordus?

I’m not saying that these things will happen soon, but I can hope that other dragons will be released as part of the living story eventually (as new permanent dungeons for example). While an expansion would more likely introduce a vast new area (Elonia or Cantha), but those are just my thoughts.

I’d also like the ability to replay missions (with or without rewards) just to be able to see the dialog/experience again. You could replay all gw1 story missions, so I hope we get to do the same.
