Fear The Crazy [Huns]

It is clear that GW1 players will vote for Abaddon, while GW2 players can’t relate and will vote for the fall of RNG boxes (what i too would do), so Kiel.
And since it is GW2, it’s completely unfair to have a race between the 2 group of players.
GW2 players will vote for a kittenty reactor explosion over a God’s fall..

nah, people got it from the tons of criticism about GW2’s lore that GW1 was superior for some… and now they want to know why. That’s why they vote for Abaddon. Also, because they’ve heard that it’s a battle vs. a god.
The reactor fallout could have something to do with the steam creatures as evidenced by their presence in the area. So more info on them would definitely be interesting..
However, it just doesn’t even remotely compare to lore regarding the Gods. Especially if said “Fall of Abaddon” pertains to his original worship and fall in Orr. Would actually fit well in the setting of GW2 since now we have an idea exactly what Orr looks like too. But if it’s just another Nightfall-like battle, just like the Iron Forgeman in Sorrow’s Furnace/Embrace, then I’ll be sorely disappointed.
I haven’t played GW1 but I’m voting for Abaddon. I’m curious to see how Abaddon fell (I read some info on GW Wiki but it’s not enough)! And besides, Reactor exploded… Big deal! Chernobyl also did… No gremlins there.

His fall took place in the Desolation, that’s what destroyed the whole landscape. Must be epic
From playing gw1 I’d love to see Abbadon again, (and if we were able to become the five human gods (or avatars of them) with new skills and whatnot to fight and cast him down, that would be awesome.
But morally I feel obligated to vote for Kiel, “for the people” and all. Also if this is about a trade agreement I trust Kiel more to not swindle the Zhypherites causing them to not trust us in the future.
Yes I would totally support Kiel, but now i just can’t :P

You are forgetting that a lot of GW 1 player, especially those whose favourite campaign was prophecies, still hate and loath the Charr. So they are unlikely to vote for Gnasblade simply because he’s a Charr.
Me? I am a GW 1 player who grew to despise Prophecies but loved Factions and Nightfall. I also never got attached to Ascalon quite the same way as some other GW 1 players did. While I do not play a Charr in GW 2 I have nothing against the Charrs. I have also been lucky with RNG AND I am a Fractal runner. So I will vote according to which Fractal I want to play and I want to play fall of Abaddon. I mean, who knows, in the Abaddon fractal you might actually become the five gods and use their godly skills to fight Abaddon. Wouldn’t that be cool!
Not for me. I played GW1 but the rewards from Kiel seem just better. I mean reduce of black lion key costs vs. reducing waypoint costs? I think we know what’s better :P
And yah both fractals sound interesting but there is no doubt we’ll see both of them implemented some time in the future.

Right to the point. This is the main reason why i would vote for Kiel. But.. to make a charr get into the council for the cost of a fractal about the fight of human gods, well, we all have to make sacrifices.
However, he will fill an Ascalonian human’s place.. don’t do this to me Q-Q

Please be so kind and prove me wrong, about gremlins and Chernobyl. Would be super cool!

Invisible pink gremlins. Very difficult to catch, more difficult to film.

I’m a GW1 player, and I am actually quite torn between the two.

I was a GW1 player through each campaign and EOTN and loved every moment of it. I will be voting for Kiel.
Cheerios

I was really hopping to see one of those, standing between Ukranian scientists and a meltdown in the background. Now that is something I would totally vote for!
Maybe I am old-fashioned but I don’t want to have a woman in a council.
Sad thing is, I’ve heard a similar statement said to a female friend of mine, while we were attending a party at the Harvard Club.
One elderly (possibly senile) man bluntly stated to her that “I remember when the Harvard Club was male-only. I liked it better that way.”
Back on topic:
I’m sure we’ll see both Fractals eventually. I mean, they’re both good ideas and we could use more permanent content/dungeons. I honestly think existing Fractals (and Southsun Cove for that matter) were just unfinished content that they polished off for the November release.
If they’re looking for a launch before the end of the year… It may mean that neither has been started yet. However, I’d be surprised if they don’t already have some parts of each being worked on.
Like how I expect Aetherblade Retreat and Molten Facility to find their way back into the game somehow… I expect both of these “council supported” ones to also end up in the game. Just a matter of which you want to see first.
You do realize that the one that isn’t picked may well also show up, just a little later? Especially if they’ve already started production work on them.

There are four Living Story teams.
Each team has four months to create their content.
When the election is over the team will have more than 4 months to create the fractal.
So I guess they didn’t start making it yet.
Everyone does realize that if Keil wins, the Cheaper Waypoints is only temporary, right?
Vote Evon, Fall of Abbaddon, if you want Thermanova, go to Metrica Province, it’s already there.

You’re reading into it too much. I can battle Abaddon every day of the week, however thaumanova is new stuff.
If it’s about gw1 vs. gw2 then sure … I played and loved gw1 for 7 years. Time for gw2
I see it more as a “who is interested in GW1 lore and would love to see connections/build ups from that”? voting
It’s strange I feel torn about this too; over the rewards that are be given out. On one hand voting for Evon shows a message GW2 lore is weak compared to GW1 and we could care less about the RNG’s effect over the game. On the other hand a vote for Kiel shows that you can completely throw old lore out the window (GW2 has been successful at doing that) and decreasing money sinks is a better idea.

I think what they mean is it fills in the plot hole gap of figuring out what really happened in the desolation. Bringing more characterization to Abbadon and the other 5 gods. If it turns out to be the fight of the 5 against the 1. It also shows that GW1 lore was far more superior to that of GW2. Meaning that we might get more old cliff hanger endings from GW1 being answered. I am talking about Glint’s children, Lazarus the Dire (mursaat), Dhuum (UW), Menzies (FoW), Wizard’s Tower (what’s inside), assassination attempt during MOX quest (reasoning), and much more.
The Thaumanova reactor incident just seems like industrial sabotage (like everyone is pointing out), which could turn out to be nothing but the inquest being themselves. However you could also easily say that a vote for Kiel shows that A-net is going in the right direction with the living story (plot wise). Also it could mean they could bring back everyone’s favorite sylvari….. Traherenre. Since he was not such a bad plot driven character at all in GW2.
