Question? The Only Way to Vote is to Jump?
I don’t think that getting to the top can be even considered as jumping puzzle. You have only 3 jumps (which are painfuly easy) to do, the rest is just automatic transporation with lightning element.
I do not jump. I have hands that are deformed and crippled, and have yet to find a way to make my hands work with any jumps even with assists with any predictablity. I have not managed to even make the first jump in the Zephyr Sanctum, despite trying and dying and losing lots and lots of cash waypointing to get up.
I was kind of hoping there was something for open world people this time around.
So the short answer is yes, you must be able to jump.
Thanks.
I hope this doesn’t sound offensive, but you type very well for someone who can’t move the character to a position and then press ‘1’ due to a deformed hand.
Protect him at all costs.
You should just ask a mesmer you know to portal you up, problem solved
@OP – if you haven’t just used a mesmer yet, you should be able to reach the top with very little keystrokes or mouse control happening at once.
1. waterfalls: stand before them with the sprint element, press 2 (or whatever you’ve got that slot bound to) then press it again once you’re through. Move yourself to the next one however you normally do, then repeat the process.
2a. platforms: line yourself up with the first platform. You can then ignore the mouse. You only need to be able to move forward, and then as you reach the edge, use ‘assisted leap’ (I think that’s its name – the one that takes the weapon skill slot #1). That should take you to the next platform, and then all you need to do is stop running before you go over the edge. Since you can leave the mouse alone until you’ve landed and are aiming yourself for the next platform, you should only have to use 2 keys during the jump itself.
2b. alternative platforms: if the lightning skill works as intended for you (as in, it doesn’t hurl you far further than it should) you can actually cross the platforms with that instead, using the ground-targeting. The crystal for this is under a tiny ramp where the fire imp spawns, not sure how many people notice it.
3. lightning: once you’re at the pub, the lightning should work fine, even if it likes to throw you off things like mine does. In this case you approach the little obelisk rock things (first one near the lightning guy, who will probably be a marker on the minimap if you’ve never been there before) and the skill’s ground-targeting sign goes away when you’re close enough. Then you activate the skill and wait.
There’s a nice solid wall past your destination, which is why it doesn’t really matter if it works properly or not. Move up to the next obelisk after the one you just landed by and repeat. No actual controls during the lightning jump things should be necessary here, just getting yourself next to a stone and pressing a single key, then waiting until you’ve landed and stopped spinning in the air.
4. fin: you should be where the instances are.
Thank you to all the kind people who helped me. I made it to the top and voted.
More importantly my faith in gamers and people in general is restored.
I won’t go into how I am able to type since some people are not aware there is speech to text programs that are quite proficient nowadays.
In any case, for those others out there who have issues like me, if you need any advice or a shoulder to cry on in game when you have tried the same jump a kajillion times I am more than willing to pay this current kindness forward.
Oh and Arenanet, for the record I am very impressed at the efforts you have made on my (and others) behalf to include new and innovative skills to assist us up those pesky JP’s. If I did not care, I would just silently fade away, I would not come here and pound my flippers.
Also on topic, thank you for reworking the wonderful Hunger Games Beta Weekend event into Evon’s mini game. It was my favorite Beta Weekend end event.
Yall try to be kind to one another. And thanks to all the kind people who offered to help.
You are what makes me stay in Guild Wars.
Hello, people in this thread. I just got up and ready for work, and I have to say I’m kind of sad that I missed this entire story happening during my night.
Because I really want to say to you: learn to look beyond your own noses; your lives will be more awesome for it.
Nalora, I would have been happy to give you a lift up to the second waypoint, which is really all you need here, but I see you’re sorted. But anyway, happy to run this and future content with you, if you like.

So, if you do not do jumping puzzles, you cannot vote and therefore cannot participate in this update? Am I correct?
mobs dropping support tokens.
Place them for your candidate and u support him. No need to do that staff.

The point of this thread is that in order to get to the candidates’ urn, you have to jump all the way up to the Zephyr Sanctum. (…)
