Setting the Record Straight on Kiel Votes

So you imply that Evon has an ugly face?! Not even I would stoop that low. He has a lovely face! HOW DARE YOU DEFACE GNASHBLADE! What sort of supporter are you?!

Out of all the whine threads from both sides of the vote, this has to be the worst.

I’m so happy pretty Kiel won. She deserves it.
I voted for Ellen Kiel because:
- I like the character.
- I like her story so far.
- I want to see more of her story.I did not vote for Ellen Kiel because:
- Cheaper waypoints.
- I hate Guild Wars 1 lore.
- Because she has breasts.I did not vote for Evon Gnashblade because:
- If I wanted to see a brief glimpse of Guild Wars 1 content, I would play Guild Wars 1.
- I rarely buy Black Lion Keys.
- I do not like his story.Gnash lost; now I drink your tears.

The fall of Abaddon from Godhood is not in Guild Wars 1. It predates GW1 prophecies by 1000 years, in fact 1079 years.

The Fall of Abaddon took place over something like 1000 years before the events of GW1.

So you’re saying it is not all that relevant for GW2?

I’d believe you expect people did polls before it ended to find out what people liked the most from each character as a stand alone. Evon’s stuff won across the board by around 20% except on the keys vs waypoints issue. Where the WP vote won with 90% vote and the most people between all of them voted in that single poll as well.
Waypoints was the deciding factor for Kiel supporters and it was pathetic.
The human gods are extremely relevant to GW2. That should be easy to see.
Also, polls are a great idea, anyone want to set those up to see some facts as to who voted for what reasons? It’d put an curb the “racism”, “kormirvs”,“boobs” type comments.

Unfortunately we have seen very little activity from the gods since Nightfall happened in guild wars 1. Perhaps however with the defeat of Zhaitan and the cleansing of Orr, they may return to a more active role and we can learn of why they disappeared. My personal guess is its related to that the elder dragon took over and corrupted their home, Arah.

The polls were done in reddit threads during the event in the GW2 subreddit if you want to go looking for them and a few other gamer forums I lurk in.
So you hate GW1 lore ? Are you also going to tell us that you love GW2 lore so far ?

The Elder Dragons are even moreso, since the Gods have left and the Dragons are clear and present. The majority voted, one way or the other, to have a 10-minute Fractal based on the Reactor and the studies that were happening therein about the Elder Dragons. CoE covers so little about the Inquest’s study; I hope the Fractal covers more, but I digress.
Now is the time for the minority to make a huge fuss and the majority to get what they voted for. That is what happened – deal with it.

Except their not. The gods have been silent for over 200 years. So they don’t have any relevance to GW2. The only relevance is who you worship. Other than that, they are not present in GW2.

No I didn’t mean their current activity, although they did have a bit in locating the heart of Orr, but rather the direct impact of their actions on what’s happening in game and their strong presence in the lore we’re presented with.
P.S. I will look for those polls out of curiosity, thanks. Feel free to link one if you have it on hand

For people who say that Abaddon has no place in gw2 lore, what even is gw2 lore anyway?
Not even the elder dragons seem to play a role anymore, besides slaying their servants day in, day out for more useless rares.
But at least we got more SKYPIRATES, whoo.

I voted for Ellen Kiel because:
-She is human (and a “she”)
I did not vote for Ellen Kiel because:
-Wait, didn’t I?
I did not vote for Evon Gnashblade because:
- Really? Who in the world would vote for a stupid charr (besides those furry pervs)?
Gnash lost; haha, loser.

It’s one of the most relevant events in all Tyrian history. the chain of events that followed led to the Dragons awakening.

How are you going to do a full fledged dungeon that took place 1300 years ago? The fractals makes sense because fractals ARE time travel, you’re reexperiencing events in history, such as the Searing.

You are even missing the most important point, that’d be Anet actually making a new dungeon. And I’m not talking about Skypirate-dungeon size, but a real one.
And then you’d have to expect them to do a decent job at it.

The Fractals actually are NOT time travel, they are instances that appear in the Mists. Some are inspired by historical events, but Devs have confirmed that they are not the actual events.
