I for one am hoping that Mai Trin will be announcing her candidacy for the council position. I think she could bring about some… interesting changes to Lion’s Arch.

Now that her cover’s blown, what’s left to lose?

Not a troll thread, I’m completely serious. Both of the current candidates are offering very similar promises and it’s obvious everyone is going to vote for Evon Gnashblade because of the Black Lion discounts. Would make things more interesting if a new challenger were to appear

Well, Mai Trin is currently emprisoned in LA, charged with murder of a member of the council. She hasn’t even the slightest chance of ever becoming council member through an election (she wouldn’t even be able to apply for a seat).

I agree and there’s only one person with potentially more to offer…

Nicholas the Traveller (or a direct descendant). With his ability to turn any old fur patch/clump of crud into something useful he would give Evon a good run for his money. Yeah you might get a rare skin from Abaddon if you vote for him and feed the RNG monkeys but to those of you that think this I have just two words….

Disco balls.

No I’m not calling you names. A vote for old Nic is a vote to bring back disco balls.

The devs have stated that the election is based on pirate politics… for all we know, there might be a rule somewhere saying that if you kill a council member you’re entitled to their position.

lol
That actually makes a lot of sense and would be pretty interesting.
I hope that something unexpected like that happens during the next part of the living story.

Yes, Lion’s Arch is a city founded by pirates, but it is a city with laws. Hence why they have a ruling party in the form of the council.
It would be counterproductive if they were to allow a woman currently on trial for having a member of the Captian’s Council murdered. It’ll be an insult to the institution on which the city was created for; a safe haven.
