Will the achievements for both minigames featured in the living story still be achievable when they start rotating daily at LA?

Well the aspect arena will not be in the rotation so I can safely say that will not be possible. As for survival it probably wont be possible just because they don’t want to give people additional time to get that mini since the kiel mini does not have the same chance.

Yeah, I saw your other post about that, Deimos. No offense, but I would really like to see the dev post for myself before accepting that claim.

(For the record, I hedged my bets anyway and completed all the Survival and Aspect Arena achievements last weekend.)

since they are under Cutthroat achievements, i sort of feel liek they’ll be gone after the event is over, i.e. in a few more days – which i needa shape up and get done ahah gonna be skipping dailies (my normal play time) to get these done. ://

they are also related to “supporting” Evon and Kiel as well.

and i’m just comparing this to Belcher’s which has it’s own achievement sections and under Mini-games (forgot exact heading) but Master of Om achievement is under Bazaar and event related.

but again, we’ll see if the devs mention anything. : ))

If you want to see the dev post, find it via the dev tracker. There are two people in this thread who have seen it and told you the answer. If you don’t believe them, find it yourself.

I did. Searched back to Page 7 which was the initial release notes for Cutthroat Politics. No mention anywhere of the Southsun Survival achievements no longer being completable after the end of the event.

Thus, I’m remaining skeptical of the claim unless someone can produce a link to the dev post in question.

Again though, I would urge achievement completionists like myself to hedge your bets anyway and complete the achievements before August 5th.

I DID use the dev tracker, Esplen. I searched for “achievement” and looked through all the pages back to page 7, which was the initial release notes for Cutthroat Politics. There have been no posts by any devs since then that say the achievements will no longer be completable, and I highly doubt that a dev would comment about Southsun Survival/Aspect Arena achievements no longer being achievable before we even knew those achievements existed.

I also searched for “survival” just to make sure I didn’t miss any threads. Still nada.

Dunno, it was at the beginning of Cutthroat.

Colin did say that Crab Toss achievements would be available for completion again in the future (granted, this might be due to the fact that they were bugged during the last week and people couldn’t progress the achievement). But that precedent is why I think the Southsun Survival achievements (and maybe Aspect Arena, if it ever becomes part of the rotation) might still be completable in the future.

Dragon Ball is more up in the air as it obviously won’t be available again until next year’s Dragon Bash.

If we’re talking about the same thing, there was a post from a player that quoted a support rep responding to the possibility that the achievements could be completed after the event. It wasn’t a dev or moderator post, nor was it completely convincing either way. The support rep stated that once events are over, they will be removed from the game and thus cannot be completed.

While this is certainly true with regard to the more general Living Story achievements, it does not explicitly address achievements linked to mini-games that will be making a return, such as Southsun Survival during the rotation. In fact, Colin’s post that people screwed over by Crab Toss achievements being bugged could complete them at a later time seems to contradict what the support rep stated, BUT we don’t know whether that is a special exception given the bugged nature of the achievements or true for any mini-game that returns.

As always, an actual Dev post regarding this would be appreciated.
