The desert rose is something a lot of people have gotten, and because of that it is cheap on the tp.
You can easily get it without relying on the boxes. The bags of coins can guarantee that you have enough to buy one.
There is absolutely no need for you to tell me to buy one at the TP, since I’ve done that! I just want to know what absurd mathematical algorithm makes it possible for a person to get 4 skins and another no one… Never mind, it’s a waste of breath … And I know for a fact that people are responding in this way are precisely those who have found ….

Sorry Globo but bad luck with the RNG is bad luck with the RNG and at least these Skins are obtainable in trading post. Personally, I never had a weapon ticket drop in any of the events so far and its not like i’m playing only an hour a day. Don’t get too frustrated and have fun!

This “absurd mathematical algorithm” probably goes like this.

too bad, your chances will not improve with each box you open.

The absurdity here is to think that because you played more you had more chances to get the skin. The reality is that somebody could get the skin playing only one game while another player could play 1000 games without ever getting it.
This is wrong. I must admit it doesn’t happen frequently that the gambler’s fallacy is quoted wrongly but you just did it.
Playing 80 games DOES give you a better chance to get a rose than playing 20 games. Where the gambler fallacy would be taken into account is once you have played this game (the 80 or the 20) you have exactly the same chance to gain a rose and people usually wrongly assume they have more chances if they have played 80 than if they have played 20 games.
But, it wasn’t the point you made because if you look at it from an external point of view you still have better chance to get a skin if you play a lot of games than if you play only one.
Just because the statistics state you are 100x more likely to obtain the item when you open 100 chests than if you only opened 1 chest, does not mean it’s guaranteed you will hit paydirt (nor that the single chest opening will NOT yield the item). it’s a very long shot, but possible.

I don’t think they’ll be available forever, likely just as part of this event. So if you really want one, now is a good time to buy it. They can only get more and more expensive as the supply dwindles post-event (although possibly a kitteneaper at first if there’s a initial sales dump).
Just wanted to comment on this and share what happened for me with the Desert Rose Skin.
The very first time I loaded into the Southsun Survival to see how it played, the gist of it etc., my character loaded, but I was immobilized the entire 30 seconds I was alive, then someone came up and shot and killed me. This game was probably 3/4 of the way through, so I had just happened to log into the tail end of it, was alive for 30 seconds and was a wandering ghost the other 2-3 minutes.
I opened my reward chest thinking “meh” and I got the Desert Rose Skin. First try, first chest, 0 “work” put into the game.
If that doesn’t tell you that RNG is RNG, then I don’t know what does….

One that approximates randomness successfully, I’d say.
That is, the situation is really embarrassing … I’m the only member of my guild that has reached 2500 points in the Achievement Southsun Survival: High Scorer, playing roughly 70-80 rounds without even see the shadow of the Desert rose skin … while some of my friends, despite having played half of my rounds have Dropped almost all the skin, some even 2 and 4 others! Congratulations again to the meritocracy that demonstrates this game and congratulations on your decision to remove the magic find … so it never worked and we all know!
MF only affects drops from kills. You would not see any difference from event rewards.
