You’d think that to qualify for the Captain’s council, you’d actually have to be a captain.

Both the candidates appear to be land-lubbers. They don’t seem to have much leadership experience, and seem to be too straight laced and goody too shoes. Vote for these guys and they’ll be implementing new anti-terrorist laws everywhere, and spending waypoint fees on free heathcare for the peasants.

They aren’t captains, and they sure ain’t pirates.

Technically Kiel is as she does have a ship. A ship that was forced on her, but a ship nonetheless.

I’m pretty sure Evon has one as well. Probably more than one. You don’t get to be the biggest trading company in Tyria without ships at your disposal to move your goods, after all.

Now both are not pirates, no. But at least one of them, if not both, are captains by strict definition.

You think Evon is a goody two shoes and lacks leadership? He has one of the shadiest introductions in the game, he’s litterally hiding in a dark stairway eavesdropping on the competition and then talks to himself like an 80s cartoon villain.

I think running one of the largest trading companies in the game can vouch for his leadership ability. He’d have to be one of the wealthiest people in all of Tyria. He could probably buy his own fleet, let alone a measly ship.
