Why I support Kiel over Evon.
Blah blah blah? Allow me to educate you as to why Evon will win.
1) BL Keys > Waypoint costs
2) Abbadon > than some silly nuclear plant
3) Evon’s business experience > Kiel’s taking credit for our hard work

Smooth Penguin, mind abbreviating on your points?
I prefer Kiel simply because Evon is the antithesis to the entire hero/story line of GW2.
Tough to rationalize selflessly saving the world (Leaf boy got credit) yet turning around and selling out to a heartless, unscrupulous, robber baron, merchant.
Plus don’t come crying to the forums when you spend your load on discounted keys to still get NOTHING!

Sure. I’ll shorten my previous post to three words: Evon beats Kiel
It’s easy, there can be so many ways to play with this story, it can be an inquest plot, or asuran experiment gone wrong, chaos theory in play, the ideas is endless and way more creative compared to a defeat a god plot. Thaumanova’s giving alot of room for fun and a decent challenge, on top of an interesting plot.
All of that sounds epically boring. The “defeat a god plot” as you so blandly put it is still far more compelling & epic. Sorry, but finding out why a building half blew up is not as interesting as a battle between the most epic & important characters in the entire GW story, unless it is directly tied to the battle of the gods. the Inquest are quite boring.

Wow… I’m amazed at your intellect claps

Wow, you shorten your post as if you were addressing Evon voters.
Kiel supporters don’t need three words, we have a decent attention span. lol
j/k I mock because I…well let’s not say ‘love’ but ‘would assist in reviving you if you were downed’.
There are only Evon voters. Kiel won’t win, so the votes for her don’t count.

Now this is a good point, but still, weak.
Firstly, the idea has been overdone in many games. Fall of Abbadon occured eons ago before Guild Wars 1. It happened in the Crystal Sea, which is now the Crystal Dessert, on an island, presumably, of Morah, which is now the Desolation. The Margonites who are human, were Abbadon’s army, and the 5 gods had thier own army of humans and possibly Forgotten. On top of that, you won’t be able to see the gods, given the lore that upon viewing of a god will make you blind. We already know so much and we can all see what’s going to unfold. It is so predictable.
Secondly, it’s not just A building which blew up. The consequences of it blowing up screwed up with the space time continuum of the world. We get to see the cause of Chernobyl of Tyria. What were the reasons behind building the reactor? What were the results they hoped to accomplish? What preparations were they doing? It’s a recent event right before GW2, so it’s much more relevant to the current time we’re playing in. I don’t think the inquest are boring, they have the Crucible of Eternity, they are researchers, villians who think they are doing something justifiable. Boring? Fall of Abbadon is boring.
3rdly, why are you skipping the fact of supporting Evon is supporting rng crap chests?
(edited by kyrioscyrus.2857)
shut your inferior mouth abbadon will feast on your eyes
I support Kiel because she’s human. Charr are scum and should be exterminated. After all, they are the reason humanity is almost extinct.
Well that and Adleburn was too proud to ask for help.

No. The Foefire that wiped out all the humans in Ascalon was caused by the human King Adelbern.

Lets answer your questions:
What were the reasons behind building the reactor? Not likely we’ll hear that in a fractal.
What were the results they hoped to accomplish? It’s pretty clear at this point they were messing with Dragon magic, seeing what it does. Beyond that, not many more details are likely.
What preparations were they doing? Preparations? Who said anything about preparations?
The Inquest trying to do something justifiable? Given their philosophy, I would expect them to be doing a bit more “playing with fire” and going further than is acceptable to other people, “for the sake of science” or something. Boring? No, but by now definitely bland.
We invade the facility, getting close to the reactor before it explodes in a cutscene, followed by Inquest security teams and portal-ed enemies, finalized with an Inquest/portal-ed enemy/elemental created by the boom bossfight. It’s so predictable.
Oh, and it isn’t just a god getting kicked off the Council O’ Gods. The result of the fight turned a sea into huge desert forever, (presumably) made the Realm of Torment, and opened a rift to it as well, AND almost all traces and scriptures of Abbadon were erased from the world. We get to see the battle that caused the GW2 version of the extinction of the dinosaurs, because that’s just how massively important and powerful it was.
I support Kiel because she’s human. Charr are scum and should be exterminated. After all, they are the reason humanity is almost extinct.
No. The Foefire that wiped out all the humans in Ascalon was caused by the human King Adelbern.
Charr propaganda will not sway me!

Naw he’s pretty much right, Adelbern was a (Censored). I’m human and even I agree with Rurik on leaving, but not on being Leroy Jenkins when it came to fighting.
It’s not Evon that wins, it’s me, because I want to see Abaddon again. Evon gives me Abaddon, so I allow him to be in the Captains’ Council (besides, that thing is not the right place for Miss Boring-Do-It-By-The-Book). Now you have to know that you all win too, because if I get Abaddon I will leave this tiny blue planet you call your home untouched. If we get that hamster-build reactor though… well I might get creative with a certain doomsday device that lies around in my basement.
I’m voting Kiel, not because I like her better (I hate her compared to Evon, who seems interesting), but because of the rewards. I don’t buy BL Keys, so waypoints are a better reward for me.
Thaumanova is also much more interesting to me, mostly because of the reasons listed by the OP. If you think this is a silly, stupid reason go ahead and throw opinions at me. Watch as I actively I don’t care, because I’m in-game putting more votes in Kiel’s box.
The consequences of it blowing up screwed up with the space time continuum of the world.
It doesn’t affect the whole world, only a few parts of it.
I agree that we probably won’t see the gods though, unfortunately. Even though it takes prolonged staring at them to go blind and we saw Kormir in god mode, I still somehow doubt they’ll go to the trouble of making them.
Also, RNG chests have nothing to do with whether or not players vote for Evon. The only thing that influences RNG chests is people buying RNG chests.
Evon beats Kiel
Not according to today’s exit poll. ;P

I support evon because if i vote for ellen then what? then we get exactly something that is in the game already kill some inquest in the Thaumanova Reactor. If i want this i can just go do the fire elemental boss. I have no doubt this is a important event in the lore but. I find abaddon way more interesting. This was the only god you could defeat in gw1. When you make you human charachter you can chose kormir as god. she toke over the powers of abaddon at end of nf.
This is some of the enemies you could face during this fractal

If you started dancing before fighting him he would dance too then kill you
Edit: inb4 correction dhuum was also a god forgot about him but he got killed by grenth anyway.

I think OP is voting for Ellen so… ur wrong
A vote for Evon is a vote for mashing #1 on Abbadon’s toe.
Really though, think about how many “HUGE EPIC BOSSES” have interesting, engaging mechanics in this game.
Then think about how many unique mechanics there are in Asuran mini-dungeons.

If the voting ended today, sure. Just like how Romney’s supporters thought the last election was their’s to take with the early polling.

Romney’s supporters just assumed a landslide victory before the election day even arrived. Just like Evon’s supporters have been.

Who cares about some silly gods fight, dragons wiped the floor with them anyway. Gods are worthless.
all of you argue over pointless nonsense, abbadon is all that matters and he will rise again through evon HEIL ABBADON

Wouldn’t it be amazing if you are both right?
1) Orr and Ascalon would exist if the charr didn’t attack them
2) Humans are really good at committing mass suicide to take their attackers with them. See: The sinking of Orr, and the foefire.
3) Ascalon would have been wiped out foefire or not.
But anyway, cant vote for Keil. Only makes sense to put a business person in charge of negotiating a trade contract. And considering its a videogame, the more questionable the more fun.
