Dear Anet, Why the convoluted option in trials?

Why on earth could you have not simply had the options
Trials Tier I
Trials Tier II
Trials Tier III
Trials Tier IV
Instead of this whole Kicking it up and down notches, when the dumb NPC seems to randomly pick what notch it was previously on?
I have done them in order, and said “let’s do that again” and gone to the next level, and I have said “let’s kick it up” and gone up two levels on a failed level…please, next time, just make clear simple options.

I ask the same question. It seems oddly complex and confusing. It should at least tell you what tier you are going to be starting on if anything instead of waiting for the event to start.

Took a bajillion restarts to finally get tier 2 on Evon’s after doing it on Kiel. It kept giving me 3 or 1 or 4. >.< I finally just fought through the first 1 and got 2. Not to mention after I did tier 1 &2 for Kiel and went to Evon’s it started me on Tier 3. >.<
