yup just died again to call from beyond….escaped 3 karka attacks….then call from beyond comes….

The splendid chest isn’t even that much better than the regular chest (if at all). I haven’t noticed any difference in drops between the two at least. My brother got the back piece from a regular chest, too.

perhaps call from beyond should only deal damage to the person who killed you? that certainly helps the revenge notion of ghosts alot more

Getting splendid chest for surviving is Anet’s way of telling you that you won. Points mean nothing. You say you care about intrinsic value but apparently all you care about is what people think of you.
And the splendid chest provides about 5s more than the normal chest, an extra vote token, and more karma, for what it’s worth.

Call from beyond is the easiest trap of all to avoid… you literally have to do nothing to avoid it.
in the survival game the ghosts are just way too overpowering its not the karka like most people claim they can be escaped but its that call from beyond trap skill it does too much damage its too cheap and its too hard to avoid
the trap skills are meant to handle people that move, thats how it should be, BUT as of right now they are so powerful most people who actually get first place on a regular basis (including myself) have no choice but to stand still in a place so the traps wont trigger and just consume rations hoping for the best, not fun not fair, please nerf call from beyond immediatley
Absolutely not, the damage should be doubled and cost lowered to 3 sparks if at all. Most of the sparks are wasted on the karkas, and later on it takes ages to gather 4, and after trapping a player, it’s frustrating to see him just use a ration and shrug it off like nothing. Unless he’s out of rations the trap is pretty weak.

yes you HAVE to do nothing to avoid it, in other words if you do ANYTHING you die to it, it encourages you to sit still and not do anything while u just endlessly consume the rations u got earlier, its not fair to people trying to play without camping

im glad people like you dont get to make development choices…..thats beyond insane,, the trap is not supposed to kill you instantly its designed to be an act of attricion, its basically already a garanteed loss for anyone who steps on it

its weird that we aggree and you dont get it…..all i want is the splendid chest and first place…..i dont mean first place in points i dont want ppl to see my name, be less hostile and learn to read more carefully before you comment
If you had 4 karkas called on you, you’re doing something wrong… seriously.
Get food, get arrows, and then find somewhere safe to hide (I know of some spots where you’re practically karka proof, AND can’t be snuck up on at all)

which is exactly the kind of gameplay i dont like its not fair not fun and ghosts should be able to hit you even while standing still, there should be no “safe” spots thats not survival….thats not what this game is about

i aggree ghosts should have a mark to hit stationary people, but first the skills we have need a nerf
