ghostform is very frustrating when the people sit in bushes with 8rations and hide like lil girls

than have to wait 10+ playerz forever and cant do anything when the living people dont salvage

so plz make people in ghostform get 1 stack per 10 seconds – would make this survivalgame a lot more fun – atleast people in ghostform can do 1 trap in 1 minute^^

how about,
if survivor does not scavenge supplies or kill other survivors for 10 seconds, a revenge mote will spawn at their location.

better, right?

The problem with ghost form IMO is that when you have the revenge motes you’re too powerful, when you don’t you can’t do anything.

Nerf the damage, add a revenge mote regen of some sort. Problem solved

I mean, it’s the ghosts that usually decide the winner of the game. I’d prefer them not having any form of damage but instead more access to cc (Fear? They’re ghosts..), but maybe that’s just me.

At the moment ghosts punish those moving about instead of the ones hiding in the bushes with a ration stockpile.

Yes but getting those rations takes time by the time they can do this their among the last survivors anyway.
Ever played freon in fps?? it can be compared in mechanics you have to hide to save you’re whole team, well here you have to hide because ghosts are haunting you.

I think the scoring needs more fixing. It’s pretty silly that the first person to die permanently can actually be the highest scorer.. or even score more than 2nd place.

Quite a lot needs tuning in this game imo.

I agree with tom.7468, this mini-game is perfect as is. Every game I play I see the same thing: players ignoring the passiflora. I mean, seriously. Learn to outsmart other players by cutting them off from those rations… Remember, they’re a limited resource. If we all competed for these at the beginning there would be far fewer to go around, and overall games would be shorter as we would be forced to attack others for their supplies.

Nothing needs tuning, polishing, or whatever. What needs improvement is people’s understanding of how to play this mini-game.

This is an easy way to deal with campers that people need to remember to do to screw them over.

Step 1. Have somebody with at least 10 nodes.
Step 2. Have the other players set down multiple pickpocket and alarm traps around the person camping.
Step 3. Have the person with the 10 nodes summon a karka onto the camper.
Step 4. Watch the camper attempt to run and get ganked by either the karka due to being knocked down by the pickpocket traps, or watch the torment kill them because they don’t have enough time to use a ration.

Works EVERY time.

Reason people hide and camp is because there’s no incentive to do anything else. If you’re not one of the first to die, you miss out on most of the revenge motes. If you’re one of the later ones alive, you know there are half a dozen ghosts hanging around you, who will drop a million traps on you the moment you move. And you know that it’s ghosts that decide the game. So the best bet is to stand still (it’s less likely there’s someone who can spawn a karka than traps, and traps don’t hit you if you don’t move) and hope the ghosts are able to kill the other survivors first.

As the game stands, it’s impossible for one of the last few survivors to even travel to one of the others without being killed by ghosts, so why would anyone bother to try?

Above is exactly the reason I’d like to see changes to the ghost form. Dying late means not being able to do anything at all, and if the ghosts feel like it and happen to have sufficient revenge motes they can outright kill anyone they come across.

Harrashing, sure, but instantly killing someone from stealth? A ghost with 14 revenge motes can summon a karka and knock down the victim with a “nice trap”, and with no stunbreaks that’s a guaranteed kill if timed well. Not to mention the victim can’t see the ghost or the trap, so the only way to avoid it is to hide.

Alternatively if the player is low on rations and looking for more, alarm traps can wither away those supplies and once again there’s nothing the victim can do about it.

IMO that shouldn’t be how it works. Give them CC to make life difficult for the living, and perhaps give them skills that punish staying in the same place. Let them keep nice traps to slow their victims down, give them fear to push them off ledges, but don’t let ghosts directly kill the living. To compensate for the loss of damage, make revenge motes easier to gain later on in the game and you’ve just made life easier for both the living and the dead

Traps are okay, but karka is OP bullsh*t. There are ppl who dont know what to do when they are alive, so they kitten game with karkas to another. Im not a camper, but ist not problem tu run and watch 5+ karkas spawning around u and lost misc. every 2 steps.

Yes, this design has so many flaws, considering southsun, I rather would have the “crap” toss event than this. As survivor, doing nothing is best strategy, as ghost doing nothing is most likely what you can do, because there just aren’t enough revenge notes…

In my opinion this minigame rates very low – only the bugged dragon ball rates lower. Mad King and Wintersday had some really nice activities; perhaps ANet might restart those again, soon. Mad King should be upon us in a few weeks (just around 10 or 12 weeks).

find a secluded camper.
put a pickpocket trip trap in front.
summon karka from behind.
watches survivor fells down, get killed by karka.

or,

find a running survivor, loaded with rations, arrows, etc. a lot of things.
notices that this survivor only eats rations when health is very low.
puts a pickpocket trip trap in front when health is very low.
watches survivor dies as not enough time to pick up ration and consume it.

well, i think that many people enjoy this mini game though.

in my last game, i realized that i could not be the first to die straight away right after the grace period ended.

somehow, i got like 4 rations so i decided to make a run for it, and find some supplies down south by the wurms lair. i ran into a survivor with 4 rations, killed him / her, took the rations and proceed to run further south west where less survivors and ghosts are likely to go there.

i won after the ghosts finished off all other survivors.

my second win actually.
another round and i will have 2,500 points for the achievements.

will continue to play.
this mini game took over my daily sPvP sessions.

will play sPvP for august monthly once cut throat politics event is over and this mini game entered the weekly rotation.

I play as a hunter, killing on average 5 people shortly after the grace period. Unfortunately however, after that, I’m just completely surrounded by ghosts. One time I had ~6 alarm traps, a trip and 2 karkas spawned on me all within a few seconds. Because of this, I just kill everyone and sit there, since I know I’m completely surrounded, otherwise I would be hunting the AFKers. Likewise, people that stock up on rations just sit there since only the karka can kill them, and those people are always the last to be found, so generally no motes to spawn one.

Survivors should be able to see each other on the map once only a couple are left. The reward for surviving should be halved while the reward for killing a last survivor should be doubled. Unfortunately however, the last survivors would probably never be able to kill each other with the amount of ghosts around.

Ghosts should generate 1 mote every 10 seconds, however, all initial motes should be removed. At least this way you could spawn a karka to kill someone that is just sitting there and first deaths wouldn’t be heavily rewarded. Alternatively, a karka should randomly spawn on you if you haven’t moved a certain distance within the last minute.
