here my video about opening 1000 “Dragon Coffer”s:

first I thought of making a video to see how bad droprate is, cause previous I opened ~750 “coffers” with no ticket, but since "frapson"mode this happened.

I’ll be buying probably 500 or so when they drop to 2 silver on the TP, so I’m hoping for some good luck when I get them. I’ll try to farm some in the meantime to get around 1000, and I’ll probably post the results here then.

As for how to farm, the best method honestly just seems to go to an area with a lot of quickly-killable mobs and go to town for a while. Every mob seems to have the same drop rate for coffers, so that’s the best method I can think of.

Does Magic Find affect how often the coffers drop? Does anyone know? I may invest in a MF set or something if so.

I would think MF would affect the drop rate of coffers but I can’t say for certain. MF in this game seems to be crap anyway. I have a full set of MF gear (205-260% MF depending on buffs) and I don’t notice a big difference with or without it. Every 100% of MF that you have only elevates you’re loot chances by .01% so………..yeah.

Since Dragon Coffers are a bonus drop, I doubt they are effected by MF.

yeah coffers are dropped by all mobs in the world – and wvw.

i think holos just have a higher droprate. I farm 4-5 holospawns so i have a really low downtime.

Nope farmed it. Today would be better to buy and play cof for gold.

i think the drop rate for the ’free’ coffers is actually pretty good (not... good... but... good... decent... alright) considering you can get extremely large quantities for little cost
... the rich coffers suck though...

incorrect; as i understand it

(hypothetically) a mob has a 50% chance to drop a blue when killed by a player with 0% magic find

the same mob is killed by a player with 100% magic find; this gives you twice the chance(another 50% of 50%; not 50%+50%) to obtain the blue; so 50%+50*50% = 75% for the mob to drop the blue

... this increase becomes less noticable at lower percentages
25% chance to drop means 25%+25%*25% = 31(ish)%
10% chance to drop means 10%+10%*10%=... 11% - did i work that out right?

the 50% chance at blue mob is killed by a player with 200% MF
50%+50%*50%+50%*50%*50% = 87.5%
25% = 33(ish)%
10% = 11(.1)%

... which makes stacking magic find (if it works as i understand it works) to extremely high levels for rare drops stupid (especially as the stat loss impacts your killing speed)

It’s not easy. It’s random. It was random on day one, it’s random. People are buying thousands and still not getting anything.
