Why put Dragon ball as an achievement when it is not one?
Some people can only play for a few hours each week and need to make the time count.
Instead of playing Dragon ball for three hours to get the (non)achievements, I could have been crushing piñatas and lighting fireworks to get closer to those cool wings.
Taking away the achievements will not discourage the AF keyboarders who are probably just happy to collect the free candy for the loss. But taking away the achievements has certainly discouraged many who thought they found a fun and productive alternative to crushing piñatas.

If you are not happy with playing Dragon Ball as an achievement, then wait until the other Dragon Bash achievements are implanted. It’s only required that you complete eight (8) achievements in order to get the wings.

It’s not just about the wings. It’s the wasted time induced by Anet.
If I spend hours farming mats that suddenly dive in value, that’s my fault because there is no guarantee that items will hold their value.
But when Anet states that Dragon Ball is an achievement for the purposes of the Meta, it should remain so.

Blame it on the massive number of people who exploited the game through the use of consumables.

What I don’t get is why they chose the Dragon Ball ones to not count, yet they make us do the extreme gambling on the Moa Racing which does count. The only thing I can think of is they want to take even more money out of the system.

I would assume they made those two achievements not count because so many people were complaining about others using food buffs during the start of the event. Cry babies always win.
