Hello,
this is my first event in gw2 (the first one with a “rare” item drop from mobs) and i started this morning to do, as every day, the daily but at my first mob (and i’m not kidding) i dropped “Holographic Dragon Wing”…
Now i can sell it on TP for 37g (i dont like these kind of things so i prefer to make money :P) but i have a question:
what’s the drop rate from mobs? I’m not sure but i’m going to farm it with my magic find equip (200% magic find) but i’m pretty sure this will be hard…

No one has the exact % but its VERY HARD to get those.

However, if you peruse the rest of the forum on DragonBash… you will find thousands (no, im not exaggerating) of irate, hostile, disappointed GW2 players all angry over these skins. Be they the Wings, or Weapons.
No, really. These things have 60-80% of the game’s population throwing tantrums or near-suicidal in rage.
If you’re a money hoarder, sell. If you think that you have a chance to get another one, I wish you the best of luck. Really.
You might just get another one.
Just know that irl I am horrifically sarcastic, and just in case that last well-wishing came off sounding that way, it was not meant as such.
I myself will not spend the next month of my life farming coffers in hopes that some skin will drop. I don’t care what it looks like or how much it sells for. If you so choose to, Indeed, by all means, go ahead.

The reason that the price for the Dragon Wings is, because you can get it from a merchant for 100k candy’s.
Like the Halloween candy’s drops down to <5c each, so at that point it will be like ~20g total to get it.

His specific statement was to ‘farm it using his Magic Find’
Not buying it with candies.
Also, it would still be about 40g.
You can currently buy them cheaper than that. This still is not applicable. His question is not to Purchase a second skin. He is wishing to obtain a second skin to sell himself. Buying candy to buy a skin and then reselling it… most definitely defeats the purpose of gaining money.

60-80% huh? I bet you 60% of the playerbase dont even visit the forums to complain, because they’re busy playing.

Actually, “buy low, sell high” is the underlying basics for ANY profit-making venture. If I wait until the price for the candy is 2c each, I can get wings for 20g. Then I sell them once they are no longer obtainable for 60g, maybe 80g, and suddenly I’ve made a 40-60g profit.
