I know there are topics about the kit troubles but I did not find an answer to this specific one. I started the investigation part of this living story with a lower level character (around 30) thinking that would be alright, but soon after I get the investigation kit I notice I am sent to a level 45+ area. While I don’t need the kit in there I wanted to avoid unnecessary problems further down the road and switched to a lv80 character, but I cannot seem to obtain a kit for him.

Majory says she will go to lions arch, but once there Inspector Kiel acts as if the investigation instance was finished. From neither conversation can I obtain a kit. Since the one I have on my low level character is soulbound I cannot transfer it.

Am I missing something? Just in case I am asked to go use the kit in 60+ areas after the update today, I would like to be able to do this on a higher level character.

I’m not sure this answers your question but I had the same problem. I did the instance with my lowest and least favorite alt because I happened to be in that area doing something else with it. I looked around and found that Dulfy site says this:

NOTE: You DO NOT need to use the investigation kit when talking to any of the NPCs. Investigation kit is only used while instance the Scene of the Crime instance.
