Is E a Death Note reference?
It could be or he could be the real killer.
Don’t really see the reference tbh.
Using single letters to refer to a person is something that existed LOOONG before Death Note was written.

well depends, x can also mark a spot …
On the bright side I now know what Death Note is, apologies for my ignorance.
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
I’m pretty sure it has more to do with being able to refer to him as Mister E.
Also like Lordkrall said the idea existed long before Death Note. It’s more likely to be a James Bond reference (M, Q, R…) but I don’t think it’s that either.
(Come to think of it the one letter codenames in James Bond apparently come from the fact that the real MI6 actually do that, so maybe it’s a standard practice in espionage or something? When you want someone to know it’s a codename you make it a single letter.)
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Could also be a Batman Reference
