Why more terrorists? It’s got old with Southsun. I really expected some Dragon minions to be sent. I mean we are having fun at it’s expense, let it get mad and blow kitten up.

(Yes, I know the dragons are essentially terrorists themselves, but they are the story here and whet this “Bash” is about.)

Well, we don’t know where this story is going yet, so maybe there will be dragons involved. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Do not expect an enemy that has understandable motives, has a good moral and can be liked. It is good versus evil… god help us before we actually get a story worth even talking about.

Sorry but mindless, empty dragons with no personality, no motivation & no character are the worst enemies we’ve had to fight in Guild Wars.

The Abbadon story was awesome. The Dragons.. guh.. might as well be fighting a wall of guns.

Really, you could call any force that isn’t a sovereign nation “terrorists” if you wanted to since, in our modern vernacular, its become a completely hollow buzzword. Molten Alliance = terrorists. Canach = terrorist. Aetherblades = terrorists.

One man’s suggestion on how to de-demonify the enemy races/factions by giving them depth and showing them as oppressed is another man’s excuse to write a superificial post not giving it any thought or putting forth any suggestion to better the game.

Your post was as useless as his, if not more, it was a critique of uselessness, even though the post wasn’t that bad.

The wiki describes the Aetherblades as “sky pirates”.

So either they worship the dragons and are offended by the effigy ceremony, or the waterways of Tyria are so overcrowded by pirates some of them had to take to the air.

I agree. Dragons that fly around out of sight who you only meet once in the entire game with no dialogue between you and it – IS BORING

southsun was boring because of the whole story arc. Building contracts on an island resort. sigh

But these terrorists are SKY PIRATES! this storyline has promise. Why did they attack the council? what is the bad blood between the water pirates and sky pirates? family feud? are they linked to another faction? do they want more than just to disrupt the council? Is there a link between the fast talking city dweller from the flame and frost chapter and the aetherblade?

I have high hopes for this one. If they bring in any lame bullkitten like the southsun drama (or lack of) where I have to mediate relations between a workforce and their employer I’ll be severely questioning the writers creativity.

Fighting sky pirates sounds more exciting than fighting more dragon minions to me

They saw my Charr doing his funky dance to burn down an effigy and swore to stop me by crashing the celebrations. Sorry guys, it’s all my fault ._.

I didn’t say that the dragons as they are are the best story. I’m asking for more on them, make them better. I’m sick of X hating Y so X hurts Z and blames Y for it. I’d like more depth. I was just really hoping for an event called “Dragon Bash” to have more than just yet another sub-faction.

I agree i’m ready for another dragon. One that is much more thought out then the last one, but a dragon nonetheless.

I’m glad that we probably are not fighting dragon minions. I’ve been fighting them almost constantly while exploring the world. I would rather fight new enemies than yet another risen invasion.

Or maybe some Pact personnel went rogue, stole a couple of airships from Fort Trinity and took to the skyways. I suspect we’ll be seeing a lot more of these Aetherblades in the “Sky Pirates” content coming up later this month.

They are Canthans in disguise! And the events will finish in August at the 1 year anniversary with the announcement of Cantha (not release of course)

I’m with that. Zombies are SO overdone, and ever since “Night of the Living Dead”, every – and I do mean EVERY – portrayal of undead in the mass media is follow-the-leader. Whatever happened to the old-school voodoo version of zombies?

If you read the lore, it actually makes more sense to have more “terrorists” for events than anything else. Even reading the lore on how the new Lions Arch came to be, and what it is.
