I was reading the preview for “Dragon Bash” and I am excited for it. However, I read that the new jade weapons would be based on RNG, again. I saw two things there though,

“You can find weapon tickets inside Rich Dragon Coffers and (rarely) in Dragon Coffers, and exchange them for weapon skins from Black Lion Weapon Specialists in every major city!”

I was wondering what they meant by the “Rich Dragon Coffer” and what this possibly could do?

I think rich dragon coffer is available only through gemstore, also yielding a higher chance of receiving a weapon ticket.

Normal Dragon coffer is available as a drop, but has a significantly less chance of dropping a weapon ticket.

maybe they are making a new RNG box that can drop from an event or something that has a 100% guarantee for a ticket

Rich Dragon Coffers are probably purchasable in the Gem Store, whereas Dragon Coffers will drop as loot.

You may (or may not) be able to turn candy in for one or both. /shrugs

This is what I am hoping for.

I would rather pay 20 bucks for a guaranteed ticket than 100 bucks on RNG boxes, that is just frustrating for people.

if it’s not a 100% chance (and just some vague “increased chance”) than it’s just more trickery from the Nexxon contingent, and ANET’s last chance at me. They are so intentionally obtuse and this game’s charms aren’t going to last through more obvious “player wallet farming”.

I love the whole Nexon conspiracy stuff, it always makes me laugh. When a company purchases a share of another company, it doesn’t give them sway over that company. NCsoft does what it wants.

NCsoft is an Asian company and in Asian “gambling” is a part of life. Betting has a different social connotation there than in, say the US. This is true of Australia as well. We bet on EVERYTHING here. It’s quite weird. There were even odds here published in the paper about who would become the new Pope.

The point is Nexon isn’t needed to explain the RNG boxes. NCsoft is perfectly capable of reaching that conclusion without any outside influence at all.

Please do not make up things that just aren’t true, i’m Aussie been here 40 years and gambling is just a small minority thing Aussies do as entertainment, some are addicted, but gambling is no more Aussie than any other place..

I strongly doubt they will have a guaranteed ticket. If they were to guarantee a ticket, why not sell the tickets directly? Why put them inside a box? My personal guess is that they will have the same chance of getting a ticket as the drops and that they are called “rich” because they have items in there that the drops do not, or the same items but more of them.

Do I sound pessimistic? Maybe it’s because I think there have been enough people buying RNG boxes in the past that ANet thinks this is the best way to make money.

Sorry, mate, but I come from America and I moved to Australia. You can’t tell the difference if you haven’t lived in BOTH places.

The fact that you are Australian makes you completely unqualified to see the different from the outside looking in.

And if it’s such a small part of the culture, why is there such a push now to reduce it in sports? Why is that wretched Waterhouse bloke all over the sports shows, and even morning talk shows.

You won’t find anything like that in the US.

Do NOT buy the Rich Dragon Coffers. Just because Anet says the chance to get the ticket is higher doesn’t actually mean much. They could have increased it from a 1% to a 2% chance which still sucks.

INSTEAD, farm for the normal Dragon Coffers. It has a high drop rate and you can get them from any monster in the open world. While the chance to get the claim ticket is lower, the number of coffers you get is HIGH (and you can also buy them from the TP, current price 9s). So, overall, it is better to save your money and go for the normal coffers only!

Nobody. Nobody wants RNG ways to get skins. That’s been the whole problem with the boxes this whole time.

It’s a lottery box designed to get people with poor impulse control or gambling addictions to waste as much money as possible in pursuit of a weapon skin ticket. It offers better odds of getting a skin than an ordinary Dragon Coffer that you can get from game play. However, we are still talking long odds and it’s very possible if you sit down to buy these coffers until you get a weapon skin ticket you could spend $100 or more in that pursuit.

In short, it’s a way for them to fleece money from players who are prone to throwing money away on RNG, (Random Number Generator), lotto boxes.

Out of 25 Rich Dragon Coffers… i got candy. No mini, no ticket. Out of about 200 regular coffers I got 2 mini’s. I ve read people buying 60+ Rich ones and got no mini or no ticket. I would not get your credit card out.

It’s a joke 2000 gems spent for f all, this game is a rip off and encourages gambling
