I know it says one time use, but I just wanted to be sure…..does this reward only let you use it on the back piece of just one of your characters or does it somehow unlock for use on multiple characters?

Only for use on one character at a time, but it is possible to transfer the one set of wings between your characters – they just have to take turns.

you have to attach the wings to an item which makes it soulbound. mine is soulbound so i can’t move them between characters…how do i use them on another character?

You’d have to transmute the item onto another item that isn’t soulbound.

With back items there are very few choices for that, unfortunately. Almost all back items are soulbound. The only ones that aren’t are the 2 Southsun back items and the Wintersday bag, which are all account-bound. You could use any of those, transmute your wing appearance onto that item (pick the stats of the non-wing item when transmuting since soulbound status comes with stats, EG if you’re using the bag, pick the low stats) and then you’d end up with an account-bound item. Of course, by doing that you’ll lose the appearance of the other item, and since they’re all unique, you’ll end up losing a unique skin no matter what if you want to use this method.

What about transmuting the shattered wing cover to another back item that is soul bound… I applied them when I first got them to a quest reward back item, lvl 35 maybe? now Im 80 and trying to transfer them over to a lvl 80 back item but it wont let me… The lvl 80 back item shows red when I try to drag it in…

Anyone know why its not working and what I can do to fix it? thanks!

If either of the items you’re transmuting is level 80, you need to use a Transmutation Crystal instead of a Transmutation Stone.
