I got disconnected in the 2nd instance, when i got back in i could go back in, Inspector Kiel just tells me to go find the suspects.
when I find them they just have the option to “leave”

And i didn’t get a mail with the details of the suspects, which others said they got :/

I was not Disconnected but i have the same problem with the suspects. also when i use the investigation kit it acts like i don’t have any skills on the bar

maybe the overflow server is the problem?

re did the cut scene worked this time also turned off ground targeting

I did exactly this and it worked for me as well

I destroyed my kit but still can’t re-enter the cut scene, even tried going to the 1st one again

I have destroyed my kit, turned off ground targeting, redone the cut scene a few times and still cannot seem to get it to work. Have no options other than to leave with suspect NPC’s – going to keep trying – I am bummed that this is eating up so much time!

I’ve had the same problems, and trying on a different character, turning off ground targetting and deleting the item/re-entering haven’t worked for me.

Is it something to do with how you leave the instance? When inside I had the event pop up, with the list of people you need to test. When that npc inside was complete, she was removed from the list. However when I exit, the event isn’t there anymore… is it supposed to be or?

There’s 5 people in the instance to scan. Not just Mai. You probably missed them.

I think if you leave the cutscene early then you can’t go back in and she doesn’t send you a mail to find the suspects

I’m having the same issue, however I did not DC or leave instance early. I did not receive an ingame mail on where to find the suspects. I’ve tried redoing the instance on other characters, destroying the kit, and wasting a lot of time. I am only prompted to leave while holding the kit/ scanning with it while talking to any of the NPCs…

i have destroyed my Investigation kit and i can go back and do the cinematic. it just tells me to go search for the suspects. i found the ogre but cant actually find him if u know what i mean.

How do you redo the cutscene?

I did the tavern and completed the cut scene one but the person with the star on her head did not complete it. She gave me nothing and only kept telling me to talk to her friend. Also she kept the star on her head as if she was stuck with out being able to finish.

edit: the problem just seems so far to be the instance is not telling some they are done with it. When I mouse over the achievement in the list it gives me clues where to go next.

Could you try destroying your item and then guesting and trying it there? I wonder if that would work?

I’ve done dead end and the cutscene in LA with the 5 suspects. I left the cutscene and I didn’t get the investigation kit. I got told to redo the cutscene in LA but it just tells me to go look for the suspects.

Same problem here. Even tried re-doing it all on multiple characters to no avail It won’t let me back into the instance

Most people seemed to have not picked up the box while in the cutscene and used them on the suspects there, but I know I did, just when I came out of that cutscene the box had gone and I didn’t have any mail that my friend did.

Just confusing really.

Many seem to be having this problem. There are several threads in the bug section of the forums… with many people not having the “fix” working in them. Hopefully this will be resolved in a patch shortly

One step missing on duffy’s guide:

1.You must have completed Hard Boiled first by visiting Marjory Delaqua in The Dead End in Eastern Commons section of Divinity’s Reach. Return to Inspector Kiel in Grand Piazaa of Lion’s Arch after to enter another single player instance that will start this achievement.

2.Be sure to talk to Marjory again while inside this second instance (Scene of the Crime) to obtain an investigation kit (Tassi Box).

3.You will then need to use it on Mai Trin, human, grawl, norn, and asura representatives.

4.THEN you will need to talk to Kiel again and hopefully you will have the reward.

Any news on fix? IT is still bugged for me…

same thing for me, of course now that the sky pirates are active I’m not too sure if the storyline is supposed to still be doable, but I’m pretty sure it’ is. I destroyed the investigation box because every time I tried using it on the dead ogre nothing happened, and when I tried talking to the other suspects nothing happened. So I tried to go back to the instance to grab another one, but I whenever I talk to the investigator she just tells me where to look for the suspects.

Yup still not fixed.

Same here, I dropped the kit instead of destroying it and am currently stuck (tried 3 different characters, tried talking to all the suspects, tried going back to Kiel and DR, but so far nothing). Submitted a ticket yesterday but I doubt anything will change Really don’t want to miss those 30 achievement points as I have been doing every special achievement so far
