Anyone else notice Astorra was green out in Caledon but blue/purple in the instance? Or was it just me?

She was blue/purple for me all the time

But sylvari do changes color.

…Maybe the color they get at night, which isn’t basically changing color as the base color remains the same :P

Different lighting can also make some colors look completely different.

Astorra is using different models depending on where she is looks like. She’s leafy haired, blue skinned, and wearing a dress in the crime scene areas and out in the wilds of Caledon she’s branchy haired, olive green and using a variant of town clothes. Maybe even a different face too. I didn’t look too closely.

She definitely completely changed models when she came to lion’s arch – or it’s someone else entirely. It’s a good thing I take screenshots of everything I do in this game! She specifically said “this isn’t my color at all.” Maybe it’s a reference to Sylvari being able to change colors under some situations? Not sure if that’s possible or not.

Notice what she said in the lower image, “This better mean I’m innocent because this isn’t my color at all”.

She was just speaking about her chameleon color changes.

She looked completely different for me when I found her in the Rowanwoods. She was of the same model of your second screenshot, but all green.
What is it with the devs and sylvari’s appearance? First, it was Canach. Now, Astorra. If sylvari can simply change colors, that should be in the lore somewhere.
There is a npc in the Grove that says that a friend of his used to have a lovely foliage, but after coming back from a successful Wyld Hunt, her foliage was a black mass of fungal rot. That is the only piece of lore I could find about sylvari changing their looks, and it doesn’t fit Astorra’s case at all (though it can explain some stuff about Canach).

At least it’s not just me. Strange thing though, Caveth, your screenshot in Lion’s Arch is the same but the one in Rowanwoods is totally different. For me, she was green with green hair and she was wearing a skirt, not pants. Her face is totally different too.

I don’t think the line during the instance in Lion’s Arch can really explain it because I checked before I even got the thingy from Marjory and she was blue then. She was still blue after the fight too.

For me when I found her in Rowan Woods she looked like she did in Caveth’s screenshot. It surprised me because she looked nothing like that on the poster.

I don’t remember what she looked like when she was first in LA and I haven’t done the trial yet but I’ll keep an eye out for her.

You can check it out on different worlds. The open world version of her uses randomised models. She looks completely different in the Rowanwoods on SoS than the model used in your screen shot. Even her armour is different.

I see… That must have been some error with the code, then. For some reason, the game thinks that it should randomize her appearance like with a lot of random npcs, instead of keeping her original looks like with important npcs.
