So I started doing the achievements, ‘cause wings are cool, and they are pretty torturous, so I took a break and went hologram farming, and after 5-10 hours of it, I’m done.

Anet can take their candies, waste of space foods, and empty boxes and stick ’em…

I have never seen anyone with a sclerite weapon of any type, so why did they bother to pay someone to design them?

..and now we have dragon weapons and I have seen 1 or 2 people with a greatsword, but again, considering the hours and hours they wasted designing them..

WHAT’S THE POINT?!?

Stupid event (did we kill a dragon? I don’t remember killing a dragon… what the heck is going on?)

Stupid korean style grind. 100,000 candies for a pair of wings? Stuff like this is why they disabled swearing on the forums…

Hundreds of wasted hours designing content no one will ever see outside Dulfy.net

….and for the rest of this week I, like many who have given up on all of it, will be left wishing this stupid event was over.

Next time save money. Just photoshop some weapon pics and tell people it’s a really really low drop rate.

The only way to play the engineer is to exploit it.
Playing the engineer “as intended” is simply not viable.

I also have yet to see a single person using a Sclerite weapon. I’ve heard of people that have gotten them, but never seen one. Of course, that could be because they look so utterly unimpressive that I just didn’t notice, but…

Yeah, I’m also tired of weapon skins that are designed solely to feed CasinoNet’s profit margin and the “zomg I have an exclusive item!” mentality of a small minority of players. The content that everyone can actually access is just garbage. Anet doesn’t seem to understand that while things like hitting a piñata are really fun in real life, they are terrible in a video game (“zomg – I hit ‘F’ like a champ that time!”).

I was bored with this “event” within about 5 minutes. It’s just Halloween with new skins… (piñatas = carving pumpkins, holograms = doors, zhaitaffies = candy corn, etc.).

You understand you had a month to do this right? I can understand your frustration after doing it for 5-10 hours straight but…you did that to yourself man.

Also yes…yes we killed a dragon. We killed Zhaitan. It was kind of a big deal. Also the Shatterer, Jormag, Tequatl, and Plague Bringer. And the Dragon Festival is about bashing the rest of them.

And as opposed to freaking out over what is random to get…why not give some mention to the things you can get. Meta achievement this event gives you the Shatterer wings. Every event has had neat stuff you were guaranteed to get by participating.

Complaining about how rare a rare item is is sort of silly don’t you think? Not everything has to be the CoF equivalent of event items ("Oh, well it’s fancy and unique because it’s dungeon armor, but EVERYONE has it).

So after 5-10 hours of playing content meant to last a month, you’re throwing in the towel? Okay, continue.

..and now we have dragon weapons and I have seen 1 or 2 people with a greatsword, but again, considering the hours and hours they wasted designing them..

WHAT’S THE POINT?!?

…That they’re cool looking skins? That’s always been the point of event skins, and these ones are much more easy to obtain than previous skins to due dropping from regular coffers as opposed to the cash shop only coffers. The coffers are very easy to grind and inexpensive to purchase en masse on the TP.

Stupid event (did we kill a dragon? I don’t remember killing a dragon… what the heck is going on?)

We killed Zhaitan… You know, the giant main bad guy of the game at launch?

If you’re talking about the purpose behind the celebration, there’s an achievement to speak with the eight pirate councilmen of Lion’s Arch. Each of them explains the entire event to you. It’s been spelled out for every player about as plainly as possible, lol. Were you expecting to kill an Elder Dragon in a regular holiday event? o_O;

Stupid korean style grind. 100,000 candies for a pair of wings? Stuff like this is why they disabled swearing on the forums…

Or you could just buy one off the TP for very few gold compared to most event skins. Or wait for the candy to drop to a few copper (which it will) and buy the amount you need. And that’s for the holo wings, you get a set of the other wings just for completing ten of the event achievements.

Hundreds of wasted hours designing content no one will ever see outside Dulfy.net

Everyone who logs in will see the content. It’s kinda everywhere.

Hoopa doopa.

Ok, so this is for everyone’s good. Don’t do holograms, that’s tedious. Don’t do pinatas, it’ll take forever.

If you want to farm candy, and you absolutely have to do it right this minute, find a series of events that involves wave after wave of mobs, and a lot of mobs at that. My preference remains the Harathi Hinterlands final four, but Southsun Steampipe Stead is a good one too.

The reason for this is that every singe mob in the game has a really good chance to drop crates. Every single crate has candy and usually a handful of them. I think I got 5 from one. So you kill a huge mass of mobs over and over until you have an absurd number of crates. Then crack them all over for the candy inside. You’re active and having fun and if you really have enough time to play you will easily amass enough candy to buy your toy. Also every crate has the chance to drop that back item, so you might not even need to collect them all.

As a bit of an example, I did the Harathi Hinterlands final four once. It takes maybe half an hour. I collected 23 crates at the end of it. I broke them open for about a hundred candies. One even chain.

Not quite. What you said is correct, but there are differences too.

Halloween had more interesting mini games, Halloween added alot of content that wasnt related to the holiday at all, Halloween had the entertaining scavenger hunt for the backpiece. At the time that was something special, now you get backpieces at every corner. And instead of a interesting scavenger hunt interwoven with lore that meshes well with the existing lore you get “acquire a million candy”. Halloween weapon skins were very on-theme and droppable so anyone can still get them.

I do like Dragon Bash though, many of the flaws arent Dragon Bash specific but based on the profit-over-everything direction anet is following since the start of the year.

OP don’t dare compare the sclerite skins with the Dragon Jade ones. Dragon is much easier to get and the skins as a whole look waaaaaaaaaaaay better. Some of their best design work, not counting the ugly greatsword. (And there are already a ton of cool greatswords.)

Dragon Bash is pretty much a sequel to Halloween, honestly. There’s very little differences from what I can see except the order of things being added and the theme…and Dragon Bash being twice as long.

Halloween had 4 acts over 2 weeks, and those games everyone remembers and you claim were more interesting didn’t actually appear until 4 days into the event…we’re on day 3 of Dragon Bash, and this event is twice as long. Halloween even added a new area where those achievements (that were very similarly grindy as these, just halved because they only had half the time) were much easier to get.

They also added unique skins to the BLCs…and you HAD to either buy a key or farm via the personal story to level 10 and rerolling. Dragon coffers drop very commonly even from normal mobs and don’t require a key. As far as previous events, this is probably the least impactful RNG boxes in any games…they’re practically the same as those material bags that also drop, except you can get a mini or ticket.

So far…looking pretty similar or even better except for the order of things. Things are doubled because we have twice as long to accomplish it, but otherwise we’re doing a lot of the same things.

Took 25 boxes to get this , and 250 normal coffers to get Jade.
This from the guy with 2200 hrs and no pre…i guess these 2 skins obtained are = to one..

I never expect to lose. Even when I’m the Engineer , I still prepare a victory speech.

We are currently on the 3rd day of a 30 day event. No, you haven’t seen many Jade Skins yet. They’ve been out THREE DAYS.

Have a little patience. If everyone could get them in a day, they would be less cool. I think there’s a limit to healthy scarcity, of course, but you need to have SOME AMOUNT of patience, dude.

Got to kill 300 holograms if you want the achievement. Need the achievement to get the shattered wings. But good point in terms of farming candy.

This is 100% false. You need 10 of the 14 achievements, just like has been true since Wintersday. Not all of them. Pinatas, fireworks, candy, fireworks event, 4 instanced events, talk to the captains. That’s 9. This leaves the holos, Moa Racing, and as long as it gets changed to apply toward the total two Dragon Ball achievements.

I managed to get my Moas so I won’t be doing Dragon Ball nor Holos, but I’ll still get my wings.
