The subforum for releases usually comes out a full week in advance, coinciding with the update page on the website. This subforum is arguably late compared to the norm. This is a little abnormal because most of the information about this update is known already and many interested players have already played the map so the discussion is likely to be less spirited as a result.
There’s only 5 more days (depending on your time zone)
it made sense when they released previews of the patch notes. But now they only show these trailers, and what we currently know of the eotm anyways.

They’ve only given a preview of the patch notes once.
Every other time that there have been patch notes floating around it has been something people have mined from the .dat, as opposed to information that has been released.
They’ve stopped releasing information to dulfy etc. in advance because there are a lot of people who feel as though that ruins the spirit of discovery and actually learning what’s going on from playing the game – same with why they don’t really do developer preview videos anymore.
And I think the point is that most players already know a bit about EoTM, and the other patch content relates to the personal story. So they want players to experience it first hand, they don’t want to ruin it in advance – which makes sense.
Otherwise it’s like reading the plot of a movie before you see it, what’s the point?

no developer preview videos anymore? Check out ArenaNet’s Ready Up developer livestream on Friday, January 31st, at 5 p.m. EST (2 p.m. PST).

That’s a little different. What I meant were the developer previews where they literally walked you through the upcoming living story patch.
Also the ready up streams are far less advertised/known about.
