Add a way to get the old flamekissed?

I actually would like that, and since they have the model it should certainly be possible.
In fact, go a step further and allow all tier 3 cultural armor to have an “upgraded” form.

Then they’d have to create upgrades for all the other cultural armor or people would cry again. Which they could do, but then I’d rather they spend dev time on creating something completely new rather than more reskins.
+1000000 to this suggestion. It should be available maybe as an extra T3 Human set Flame Kissed version for 120g total.
Probably would be the best way to go about this, but it would take time to do the other 4 cultural armors seeing how long just changing the light armor took.
Maybe later on they will add these effects through a gemstore purchase. (With only one use of course $_$)
I know its human t3, how about there’s an option to upgrade our current human t3 to flame if we wanted too. the skin exists, no need for it to not exist anymore.
Nope, HT3 owner wanted it gone. It’s gone forever. If they brought it back after all this it would be another huge mess of unhappy people. It wouldn’t be right to say, “Hey thanks for listening to us and getting rid of the Flamekissed that looked like HT3. Now let us have it instead.”
okay heres the deal, i spend 800 gems on that flamekissed armor on the tradepost for my necro sylvari. And it looked good, then i though maybe 2 Incinerator daggers would look cool on that, so i spend loads of gold on those and was pretty happy abouth that look. Then what do u people do, redo the armor look on the flamekissed set, so now it all looks crap, armor is awfull looking, my 2 Legendary daggers was a waste of time and gold. And 2 be real that aint just a few coppers. So at this point i feel like i just wasted abouth 5500 gold, well done anet i must say. So whats being done?? got a set of armor i dont like 2 Legendary daggers that i dont want eighter now!!!!!!! made em only 2 suit the old flamekissed armor….

How do you know they didn’t buy all that before it was announced it would be changed or that they didn’t see the announcement?
Nope, he has no fault. Nobody HAS TO come forums and read those cries. He could invest that gold before the first whining in forums and long before an Anet guy/girl’s response to that cries.
The new (old) armor is a low rez, fugly atrocity. At least humans should be allowed to keep it (or buy it for 120g from t3 merchant)

This is kind of my stance, while I’m not going to shame the people who based their outfit around the Flamekissed, one would hope something like that would set off red flags in a person’s mind.
The original blame does land on Anet, however not for listening to the community’s complaints about the set being released a cultural rip-off, but for Anet thinking that releasing a cultural rip-off was a good idea in the first place.

what a waste man! looks like your only option for those two useless daggers now are to make two more and throw into mystic forge.
I have to agree the fire T3 should be brought back (TO HUMANS ONLY), even as an item that upgrade the normal t3. Yes they would have to do this for all other T3’s. That would mean just that much more money for them.
Right now all they have to do is have an item when combined with the normal t3 would change it to the fire one (say 500 gems?). then over the course of other living story update release one or two of the other cultural. I mean right now they already have the armor made, so it would be a good time to test it and see how well it sells. And this might even lead to a whole new item in gem store that would had X effect to any armor applied.

If you want armor with flames you buy what they offer now on the gem store. Bottom line. Armor with flames is now a perk for those of us that buy gem store armors. If they start giving it to cultural armor wearers it would be a slap in the face to gem store customers. It would negate the exclusivity of the gem store flame armors (see how that works). Sorry for your luck but having it gone is what you asked for to start with. You shouldn’t get the best of both worlds.

I just want to mention really quickly, reskinning the t3s of other races wouldn’t work for sylvari who already have a glow option, and probably not on asura either. They shouldn’t have touched cultural armor to begin with, and the other sets not being cultural, it was just wrong and weird.
and to the guy who made incinerators to go with it. you have 2 legendaries, congrats. That is literally a non issue. there’s still cof armor if you really don’t like feathered armor that much.

The best thing to do would be add the old flamekissed along with a bunch of other cultural “glowy” skins for all races and call it T4. Adjust prices as necessary.

Am I missing something or did they not allow you to get a refund or something? They said they would.
I think it was a bad idea to re-skin tier 3 human armor to begin with, but once people had purchased it, I think it’s an even worse idea to take their purchase away from them. It sets a really bad precedence that anything you buy from the gem store can disappear and be replaced at Anet’s whim. That might have always been true legally, but it really makes the buyer beware. What’s next? Will Anet cave to the folks who cry that the new Watchwork mining pick is unfair (because it’s pay-to-win) and replace those already bought?
I know I will be more cautious about my gemstore purchases in the future…

Most people where complaining about the fact tis was a cultural, which is a valid point. It was a cultural and should remain human only.

The Fire upgrade would still come from the gem store, not ruining your “gem store exclusivity”. People for the most part weren’t against the armor or selling a fire version, they where against the fact that it was an upgraded human culture that ever one could have.
By the end of the day anet is out to make money. This would do just that. Selling an item that would upgrade the cultural to fire would be a win, win all around.
-The people that wanted it to remain a cultural only, would get just that. The other race wouldn’t be able to buy the t3 base, so they would be unable to get the fire version.
-The people that want it to cost more the normal t3 would also be happy, as you would have to have the t3 first to upgrade it.
- The people that want the fire effect would be able to do so.
- Anet get more money.

Nope, sorry. There was a huge public outcry for the original flamekissed to be removed. It was removed due to that and should stay that way. You can’t say “Take it away! Thanks for taking it away now give it to me.” If that set ever shows up back in game after the mess it caused it is only going to make people angry again, namely the ones it was taken away from. This has been a huge mess since day one and bringing it back for a different group of people will only make it worse. Anet needs to cut their losses here and leave it as it is now. The original skin is gone and has been replaced.

Yes it was a mess, but was not caused by the item it self, but because of the way anet released it, and to who. The whole thing could have been avoided if anet had thought through it a bit more.
The fact still remains, that the armor is still desired enough that people would still want it. And I already described a way it could be re-released WITHOUT causing any of those same troubles. The only people that might not be happy are people that one it on a race other then human. But those people should already know that when choosing their race that they would be unable to get select armor designed for other races.
I see no reason such a nice armor needs to be locked away on some server, never to be seen again. When it just needs to be released correctly, and to the correct people.
Cultural Armor, in my opinion, was a mistake and should be undone. Unlocking armor will only bring more choice and capacity in making our characters unique.
