It’s hard to believe that Kiel is “trying” to boost LA’s air defenses, but the Council won’t let her. This is such a weak excuse to hide her true motivations. She wants LA to be attacked.

Think about it. It was such a coincidence that Kiel was busy with the Thaumanova research, while Scarlet was allowed to just roam untouched in that time. It was such a coincidence that Mai was able to escape the cell that Kiel put her in. And it’s such a coincidence that the Captain’s Council won’t beef up their defenses against an assumed Scarlet invasion, even though Kiel sits on the Council herself.

1 + 1 + 1 = Kiel’s evil

Now let’s look at Evon, or Mr. E for short. He’s so concerned about the health and safety of LA, that he brought out special weapons for heroes to purchase and equip in they fight against the bad guys. With his help, we even have a revamped light armor skin that we can purchase to look good in while we save the world. And let’s not forget about the partnership between the BLTC and battle quaggans, which allows us to kill our enemies with special quaggan summons.

( see: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/adorable-new-items-in-the-gem-store-2/ )

It all points to one conclusion. Evon cares about LA, while Kiel only cares for whatever evil plans she has in mind. The truth is out there…

If Evon were TRULY concerned about the safety of LA, he’d make the new weapons available for use to us adventurers free of charge. -hint hint-

Evon’s obviously made a deal with Scarlet. That’s how he manages to smuggle in a near infinite supply of her weapons (Fused, Aetherized, Dreamthistle, Watchwork pick).

I thought it was bad enough when we learned that he was giving us illusionary armor (Pheonix Armor) which gave adventurers a false sense of protection, when in reality he was just stripping us of our dignity. Now he is not only giving us overpriced cheap armor, but he is also setting it on fire. All Scarlet has to do now is throw a little gas our way and all of LA will be up in flames.

Don’t be fooled, Evon is the true evil.

Remember Ascalon, the dead and the dishonorable burials!

Better to let Scarlet burn the city than Evon run it like he runs the BLTC!

Revisionist history. Read it again and it’s clearly “we won’t make as much money destroying the city as we would not destroying it. Yay, $$$.”

All that dirty, stinking charr did was ‘save’ LA from another dirty, stinking charr.

Supposedly.

I wonder how healthy the other dirty, stinking charr(s) from that Warband are these days. I believe it is the lone survivor who (re-)writes the history…

Ellen Kiel is only 1 vote on the council. And the newest one at that. She probably has a hard time convincing the more seasoned councilmembers.

Ellen Kiel’s research into the Thaumanova Reactor, which btw was one of the biggest asura disasters ever, led to more revelations about Scarlet’s past. I’d say, good research.

Ellen Kiel put Mai Trin in jail. And I’m sure that decision was backed by the rest of the council too. But she wasn’t the guard on duty. And she didn’t build the cell with a false hinge or something.

Conspiracy theories require more evidence and less conjecture.

Ya, everyone knows that Kiel is obviously the bad guy in all of this. I mean, really, how hard would it to be to convince a council of money hungry backstabbing pirates to care about the welfare and safety of the common man?

I’m gona call it now,
one of the major-est heros of the Battle for Lion’s Arch is gona be Canach.

We need a Sylvari for the new Destiny’s Edge… and a new name as well!

No more non cosmetic world event rewards. We haven’t forgotten the Ancient Karka.

This would make sense yes and would be the most likely event, considering his new dialogue it’s pretty obvious they intend to make a hero out of him.
