PvP modes are the “endgame” in all MMOs.

In order to cap the red keep, you need to:
- Kill the main grawl champion, which first requires you to;
- Kill two “elite” earth elementals, who have the buff;
- “Solid State”, which gives the elementals 90% damage reduction and permanent reflect missiles. The only way to remove this buff is to:
- Separate the 2 elementals (Like AC dungeon story mode Ralena/Vassar), but both are;
- Immune to CC’s, so you can’t spread them, hence they are always next to eachother, hence are always reflecting projectiles, and 90% damage resistant.
- The enemy then endlessly respawns and eventually wipes you due to the cap taking 5-10 minutes to kill the AI champions.
What does the Blue Keep get?
Throws Fire Bombs • Creates Turrets
What does the Green Keep get?
Knocks Down • Falling Ice • Regenerates Health • Chills on Hit • Removes Conditions on Disable
The Blue and Green Keeps are ridiculously easy to cap, while the Red Keep is next to impossible to cap.
How was this even overlooked in the Beta? Wooooooooooooooooow.
Am I the only one who thinks its unfair for one team to have a GIGANTIC advantage in their keep compared to the other 2?
Or are people just yet to experience its wrath?
Have yet to experience it’s wrath. But that does sound kinda imba. Should be looked into.
While I’m playing red this week so I can’t really comment on the difficulty of our lord, I can say that Blue keep lord is much harder to kill than green. Green keep lord is very weak while blue does quite a bit of damage.
That said it doesn’t matter. EOTM is meant to be a test zone, it’s not meant to be symmetrical and I assume this is exactly the type of thing they want to test. Having different difficulty keep lords can give anet great feedback on the effect it has on capping.
We said it many times during our testing within the beta, but I guess it still exists…
That and the fact of their ai auto turrets. Its extremely difficult to overcome red compared to the other 2 keeps. With their ai auto turrets, if you’re an up level you’re facing almost one hit killers with nobody manning them so they are constantly firing at you.
But red keep lord room is a lot easier to hold and prevent enemies getting back in compared to the other keeps. God forbid you have to have some organisation to take the WP’d keep ….. Lol

Blue is actually pretty difficult. Green is probably the easiest. But at the moment Green can summon pretty big zergs so that seems to even it out.
Red is definitely a pain, it’s even a pain when us Reds have to take it back.
Took both red and green keep, gotta say green keep is annoying when they have the bugged siegerazor up, but blue keep is indeed hard without some coordination, i usually run 30 ~ 40 melee train with my server there so its not too hard killing the lord while wiping enemy blobs as they currently lack soo little coordination and organization, yet to meet a guild group tho

Although a rather lame theory, considering red teams generally are those in last place of their respective tiers, possible benefit of the doubt perhaps?
I don’t know how hard Blue Keep is to cap and probably won’t for a while, T1 is stagnant in terms of colors, it’ll be a while before I can experience that.
Green Keep isn’t hard to cap either, but truthfully I haven’t really been on any OF maps in which the green team really defended their keep yet, which is kind of weird.

Really? In almost every one I’ve been in we’ve been defending our keep and losing it lol. >.< Must be getting really unlucky.

It pretty much still is. The new match algorithm tweaks rankings a bit and those new rankings determine your matchups. However, if there are big gaps in rankings between servers, it makes it more likely for your server to stay at the same rank and thus the same color.
The probability of seeing servers having the same color week after week is very very small — but that’s exactly what we’re seeing. Colors are definitely not totally random.

Compare ranks, matchup results and colour, and you will see that there’s no such relation now.
RED team is supposed to be made up of the servers that are coming last / ranked lower than all other servers in each match up, im sure stackgate could get a zerg big enough to cap the red keep, in EOTM, or does green/blue just want to dominate with numbers/zergs in WvW and EotM without much of a fight?
I actually think it is one of the easiest keeps to cap. Our guild [ASH] managed to kill the elementals and the grawl in ~45 seconds last night. Sure the mechanic takes getting used to, but if you get someone who knows what they are doing to aggro one of the elementals and kite it away from the other, you can kill them super fast. After that with a bunch of cc and damage you can melt the grawl in <10 seconds with a 20-30 man group.
