Given the details surrounding EotM are few and far between, I figured we could create a thread to aggregate the details everyone’s found thus far.

I know Anet will probably release their own blog post at some point, or lots of new stuff will be found during the Ready Up podcast tomorrow, but this might serve as a primer for people aiming to ask questions during the podcast tomorrow.

Afterlife Gaming was involved in the Public Beta test of EotM and they’ve written a decent overview on their blog.

What other details have people found on Reddit, Wiki, Dev Responses, etc…?

Any player that is part of a red team on any matchup will queue up to EotM in the red team, any member of a green team in any matchup will queue to the EotM as part of the green team and any player that is blue team in any matchup will queue to EoTM as part of the blue team. Teams for this map are intended to pull from all existing matchups across your server region.

I am so glad they made this change. The old idea which you could only face players from your current matchup was a bad one. Servers with higher population that dominate in WvW will still dominate in EotM, it would be like just another BL map.

With this change, any player from any world can experience balance fights 24/7. It’s like making T1 fights available to all players but with no queues!

This also solved the possible problem that players might stack to T1 even more because EotM.

GJ Anet! This is a good step in trying to balance WvW.

How big is the map comparative to say EB? And looking at the map screenshot it seems to be a bunch of floating islands…I can just see the luls of a hammer train using Banish xD
Are there any large open field spots where you will not have to worry about getting knocked off the edge? Or am I looking at the map wrong and you aren’t able to get knocked off in the 1st place?

Wow, so you could actually be playing with different players from different servers in EotM? That’s actually pretty neat.

I know the desert areas are quite large open flat spaces
